i have downloaded a couple of avi movies and cannot view them. sometime is says error downloading codec. sometimes it plays the sound but no video. anyone have any ideas? i have window's media and the latest version of quicktime.

you may have the latest version of windows media player but you might not have all the patch updates that microsoft has put out. If I get this error or symptoms it's always a codec problem. A little while ago microsoft released a codec set for media player just use your windows update function to get them. If it still isn't playing then i'd download a additional set of codecs which you can pick up at www.divx.com (http://www.divx.com)
