Bikers benefit from 50 yrs of humans in space
50 years ago today, on April 12, 1961, humans entered the Space Age when one of us rode a rocket into orbit. Today, people around the world are celebrating Yuri's Night in honor of this epochal event. All of us, in all our countries, have benefited in one way or another from the advances brought about by space exploration.
As travelers, bikers and drivers, we've all benefited, from the many ways we use GPS, to the construction of carbon fiber vehicles, to the creation of stronger and lighter engine alloys, to our ability to find more fun and safer roads using satellite imaging, to our ability to find and communicate instantly with friends with similar interests around the world, and so on. Some of these new inventions we'll never even know about.
Of course, Greatest Road owes its existence to many of these advances.
So thank you to everyone in the space programs worldwide.
How shall we celebrate? Get out there, of course! Go find a space-related destination and head out! Some places to visit:
