Hey All, I am picking up an '01 1000 and when I am sitting on it I am barely on my Tip Toes. Can you give me any ideas on how best to handle this situation? I Know at a stop I can keep one foot on the peg and the other on the ground, which is what I normally do anyway. THe MSF Course teaches you to cover the Rear brake at a light. But any other ideas you can give me would be great. Thanks, Steve O http://www.gixxer.com/forums/images/graemlins/burnout.gif

You could lower the back of the bike. An inch and a half does wonders.

Yep, lower the rear, you could shave the seat but the seat doesn't have too much give in it anyway.

i have a 600 and i shaved the seat now my toes and front foot touches the floor completly get the seat done and if it still isnt enough then mess with the height. lowering the bike can lead to different handling and an uncomftorble ride from what i hear.

Yea, as stated, lower the bike and you will lower the ride quality. Shave the seat, gives a couple more mm of play. I have never been flat footed on my 1k, and it has never been a problem either. When I wear my sidi boots, I can't touch the ground at all (with both feet).

LOOK TO OFFER MY ADVICE U SHOULD NOT LOWER THE BIKE... THEY MADE THE BIKE THAT HIGHT TO PERFORM BETTER AND WHEN U LOWER IT U TAKE AWAY FROM THE DESIGN OF THE BIKE AND IT CAN BE UNSAFE I WOULD SAY U CAN SHAVE THE SEAT LIKE EVERYEONE ELSE SAY.. WHAT EVER THE HELL THAT IS BUT JUST DEAL WITH IT.. THE HIGHT IS NOT GOING TO KILL U.. ONE FOOT DOWN AT A LIGHT IS NOT BAD BUT HEY YOUR FEET SHOULD BE ON THE PEGS ANWAY.. LOL WHO RIDES WITH THEN ONE THE GROWN...

I say just live with it. I'm in the same situation with my 750, having one foot down anywhere is no problems. I'm glad my gix is so light...
