: What Fuel Do you guys Use?
2004gixxer600 04-23-2004, 06:59 PM I have been putting 93 octane in my 04 gixxer 600. I figured it was a high compression engine, would run best. I thought I read in the manual that it will take 87 octane? That seems low for such a high compression engine. Just thought I would get your guys opinion. Lovin the 04!!! Still breakin her in, but man is this gonna be one mean 600! Thanks
Dan

[EGC]UltraInferno 04-24-2004, 11:31 AM 95 or 98
SVBoy 04-24-2004, 11:53 AM Use what the manufacturer suggests, nothing more, and definately nothing less. If it creates a problem, the manfacturer will refund. Switching fuel grades will kill either your motor, or your power (unless you ride in extrememly hot climates, and only then)
gixxer750tim 04-24-2004, 02:51 PM Been using 95 ron here in UK
GSXR_ROB 04-24-2004, 04:56 PM I've been putting in 89 or 93 Mobil gas. NO OFF BRAND CRAP!

NOUPF-GSXR 04-24-2004, 11:02 PM lol....all the squids use octanes in the 90's...too funny, tooooooo funny
rclangelan 04-25-2004, 12:17 AM My 750 came with a sticker directly on the gas tank, just above the fuel door, that read, "USE ONLY PREMUIM QUALITY GASOLINE OF 93 OCTANE OR HIGHER." Or somthing like that, I don't remember cuz I already yanked the sticker. But it definetely told me to use premium. I guess the 600s didn't come with such a label.

I'm from MD and am in the military stationed in Dover, I usally am home on the weekends and as soon as I pick up my K4 it will definitely be every weekend so we may have to try and hook up http://www.gixxer.com/forums/images/graemlins/thumb.gif
GSXR_ROB 04-25-2004, 09:10 AM No the 600's didn't come with the sticker on the tank like the 750's.
ESCO750 04-25-2004, 01:05 PM 91
spdrcrx 04-26-2004, 07:52 AM 93 or higher
Htown1000 04-26-2004, 09:12 AM yep the 750 sticker states to use 90 or better, being that most gas stations have 87, 89, 93 you are pretty much forced to use 93 which is supreme here in texas.
[EGC]UltraInferno 04-26-2004, 09:24 AM We only have 95 and 98 here. AND 95 already costs 1.3$/liter. So I wouldn't complain really http://www.gixxer.com/forums/images/graemlins/crazy.gif
mintakaX 04-26-2004, 10:24 AM Here at one mile elevation (Boulder, CO) yoyu cant even buy 93. I was told that more than 87 would be a waste and might even be bad for the engine, but there is so much controversy over octanes and what they do that I have no idea. So, I switch between 87 and 91.
garyn_76 04-26-2004, 11:40 AM I've really never checked if CA carries 91 or 93, but which ever the higher octain is, that's the one me and my buddies use.... always put in the highest quality for the best performance, my 2 cents.
