Yesterday I could not start my new (190 mi) GSXR 600. Dealer came and got it. Turns out another bike form the same dealer, same day had the same problem. They found out that their big gas storage tank had gotten water in it. So the bikes they sold that day eventually had problems. Took two tanks of gas to get into my engine.
My question is, could there be any potential problems down the line due to this ? They drained my fuel and put some stuff in it to absorb the H20.

I'll try again http://www.gixxer.com/forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif. Does anyone know if water in the gas tank that got to the engine could cause any problems later on ?
Thanks

I'm not sure what the water could have done to the engine, but that's a bummer. Hope it works out okay.

water in the gas usually doesn't do perminant damage to the internals. fuel drier usually does a great job at absorbing moisture. but you need to change the fuel filter if the dealer didn't do it already just to be sure. try and stay away from fuels with ethanol additives. it's usually labeled on the pump it it's present. if you can't find any with out it don't exceed 10% ethanol additive.
