What do most people do at stop sign or traffic lights just wondering if you put your bike on neutral at every stop or you keep it in first with the clutch press till is time to go, just wondering what will be less stressful for the tranny.
If you know the light is going to change very quickly keep it in gear but when i now its gonna be a little bit i put it in neutral

It makes no difference in terms of stress on your tranny. What makes the difference is the stress on your clutch hand. I put it in Neutral if I've gotta wait for a bit.

They say in the MSF to keep it in first with the clutch in all the way so that you can take off if you have to (like the guy behind you isn't going to stop in time). That being said I usually put it in neutral so I can relax my clutch hand and stretch out.

1st gear until at least 2 vehicles are behind me at a complete stop. Otherwise, neutal.

I agree with beafer, after getting rear-ended it's pretty important.
As for vehicle stress, holding in the clutch will wear out the springs, if you hold it in for about, maybe 5 years straight. It really makes no difference with modern technologies being so good.

trust me, they don't. And when you do start moving, keep an eye out in case the traffic ahead of you stops. That's what happened to me, traffic stopped after it started moving, the minivan didn't stop http://www.gixxer.com/uploads/bikeback1.jpg

if you are fatigued and feel like poppin to N do it but when you do let go of the clutch and keep your hand on the front break- this definitly should be done with older bikes- seen a dude pop into neutral but i guess it really didnt pop to neutral and he dropped is shit

I keep it in gear unless it's gonna be a while
