: Nicest & shitties cars you've owned
baxter 11-15-2010, 06:57 PM Ive got a couple weeks off, so i've got some time on my hands.
just curious, whats the nicest car/truck you've owned (in terms of power and value, throw in some power specs or what ever) and the biggest piece of shit beater youve ever owned. throw some pics in if you like. I'll start it off.
Nicest: 1986 Porsche 944 Turbo (big single turbo) est. 400rwhp
Shittiest: Probably would have to be my 1982 (i think) ford capri hatch back
guttless piece of shit, the drivers side door didnt even open, you had to crawl thru the window or go thru the passenger side door. dont have any pics, it was about 10 years ago.

baxter 11-15-2010, 06:58 PM haha, i just realized. or that mercury topaz in the back round. that thing was a real piece of shit too. my winter beater, thing blew up on the highway.
gunther1000 11-15-2010, 07:14 PM Hmm, this is a tough one for me.
While I've owned a lot of "nice" cars in my life, id have to say the one
That brought me the most joy was my first.
A cleanner than new 1984 buick Grand National w 32,000 miles.
I was such a turbo newb and so in love w that car.
I bought it when I was 14 and loved it fo realz.:punk
Worst, would sadly have to be one of two in my gargae right now
Cadillac catera. Fun,and mint until a lil crash damage. :facepalm but the
Lincoln LS is aight. Both fun rwd cars.
SPL170db 11-15-2010, 07:33 PM Nicest: Current - 2011 Jeep Grand Cherokee
Shittiest: First - 1987 Jeep Cherokee
:D
S_Gsx-R 11-15-2010, 07:34 PM G20! smooth ride. power sucked, but it was pimp. (most people dont know what im talking about when i say Infiniti G20)
First was '98 protege shit+y cause had no a/c.
'99 G20

IndiGIXXER 11-15-2010, 07:47 PM Geo Storm ---- BMW X5
CheeseToe 11-15-2010, 07:56 PM Coolest - '85 Cutlass 442 - Black/silver, t-top, cammed 307, loved that car.
Shittiest - '86 Chev Celebrity - Barf-green everything, $200, drove it 80,000km
Slowzuki 11-15-2010, 08:33 PM Shittiest: 1976 Chrysler Cordoba with a 400 magnum engine.
The car was a multi-color, primer painted pimp wagon. Hauled ass, could hold about 10 people comfortably, and great for hotboxin! LOL!
Best: 1998 Mustang SVT Cobra
mods:
580 rwhp. Kenny Bell Supercharger, headers, Re-chiped, 383 diff, other shit too. Buddy lent it to me for a year while he was in jail. Wished I could of kept it. Beast of a car :crying
motoxman.21 11-15-2010, 08:44 PM Best: 1993 Toyota 2wd Pickup. It was a little beater rig but I had a bumping stereo in it and could take that thing almost anywhere.
Worst: 2001 Ford Ranger 4wd. It looked like a nice rig to replace my toy after I got smashed at a stoplight. But the timing chain went out after 3 months and I never could trust the thing again. Sold it to buy my bike.:punk
Jd4oor 11-15-2010, 09:04 PM '91 Chevy Cavalier - Worst
'95 Chevy Camaro - Best
mlissa2007 11-15-2010, 09:26 PM shitt'iest: 89 toyota corrolla with lizards coming out of it and it finally blew(399000miles)
good:2007 toyota yaris type s grocery getter.still running (94000miles)
better: 04 zx 10 or 08 250 daily rider; soon to be weekly rider tomorrow (28000miles)
the best: 2006 gsxr 1143 stroker monster; weekend rider 0miles (210rwhp)
the toyota yaris was by far the best car i have owned. reliable
Lean With It 11-15-2010, 10:29 PM best: 2003 Maxima fully loaded
shittiest (but is actually the best and I use it everyday now and just drained/filled the transmission fluid)
1990 Bronco II 4x4 automatic. Won't win any cosmetic contest, but will haul anything you put in it, go up icy hills and thick snow with no issues, tow bikes, blast heat, and the radio works :lol bought it last year for $685. Parts are retarded cheap - starts everytime and gets me from point A to B and back again.
Used to be into having a nice car and hooking it up - but then I grew up and have an awesome girl that cares more about my bikes than I do :punk lol
Best and first car was a '76 Pontiac Bonneville. Totally effin' cool, better than a 17 year old kid deserved but I paid for it with cash, all on my own and was proud as hell of it.
Then my old man drove it into the river while I was away at school. :cursing
Haven't ever really had a "bad" car, but lowest ranking was an old 460 Ford truck. But it was actually pretty nice.
Right now, I'm driving a '98 Camaro Z28. Love that car. 210,000 miles and pulls like a dream!
--Wag--
oldgixxer 11-16-2010, 05:43 AM oh fuck,Ive owned some real shit boxes in my time but the 1975 Mercury Comet that I bought from neighbors hot daughter back in the late 80's was horrible.Floorboards completey rotted out&the floormats would get soaking wet if I drove it in the rain....
1984 Plymouth Horizon takes the cake: it would constantly pop out of gear when parked on a slight decline&one drunken night I parked it in my driveway(forgot to pull the parking brake)and it popped outta gear&ran me over while I was pissing on the neighbors bushes at 3am:ohmy:lmao
Nicest cars have prolly been my wifes 997 convertible before she smashed it up&the CLS 55AMG/E63 AMG we have now
EricUSAF 11-16-2010, 06:18 AM The best I've owned: my 2002 Camaro ss w/ t-tops I recently had to sell to buy my house :facepalm I'd rather have that back now....
The worst: my 93 dodge (plymouth) shadow hatchback. that thing had less HP than a rollerskate. I had my home stereo speakers hooked up in it (and it actually didn't sound that bad). I owned it for 3 months and drove it for about 6 days (accumulative). put it on the road and drove it about 15 HW miles and the fuel pump went out. replaced everything there, and drove it for another 3 days and the tranny went out. fixed that and drove it for another 2 days and the timing chain went.
99problems 11-16-2010, 06:24 AM I can honestly say so far I have had the shittiest first car...
Who can beat a baby blue 74 mustang II? :spit 302 with the C4 and old peggy smokin out one tire down in old Mexico:punk
Yeah I wouldn't admit it either:lmao
Anthony D 11-16-2010, 07:12 AM well, i've never had a really nice car, one that i would say was the best.
i guess my favorite car would be my 1995 mitsubishi 3000gt vr-4. i put enough money into that thing to put a down payment on another house just to get it as fast as rob's stock e63amg, lol...
the worst car, hmm... i have had a lot of shitty cars. i guess it would be my 1994 toyota camry. that thing couldn't get out of its own way, and had more problems than any car i have ever owned.
oldgixxer 11-16-2010, 08:02 AM i guess my favorite car would be my 1995 mitsubishi 3000gt vr-4. i put enough money into that thing to put a down payment on another house just to get it as fast as rob's stock e63amg, lol...
.

sorry, must be my new medication acting up:biggrin
wuzup76020 11-16-2010, 10:19 AM My first car was pretty shitty. It was an 1985 crown vic that was sun faded sky blue...ugly fuckin car at 21 feet lont and 9 feet wide :frantic
nicest would have to be current.
My bigdodge97 (my xbox live game tag :lol)
4" suspension with 3" body on 36" bfgoods. :cheers

Dirty Dick 11-16-2010, 10:46 AM my worst car would be my first. it was an 83 honda accord that my uncle gave me when i was 14. My dad and i fixed it up but i never actually drove it. My dad ended up selling it for like 500 dollars and i bought another car.
My best would have to be my current. Its an 02 F250 Lariat 4x4 7.3L diesel. Its lifted about 9" and has 37" tires. It'll tow anything u throw at it and doesn't do too bad while offroading
Mr. Evo IX 11-16-2010, 11:04 AM Worst Car - 83 Camaro.. total POS
Most Reliable - 92 Toyota 4x4 pickup 186K miles not one issue.
Nicest? Ok Most Fun - 06 Lancer Evolution. High maintenance but reliable as well.
baxter 11-16-2010, 11:18 AM oh fuck,Ive owned some real shit boxes in my time but the 1975 Mercury Comet that I bought from neighbors hot daughter back in the late 80's was horrible.Floorboards completey rotted out&the floormats would get soaking wet if I drove it in the rain....

is that a cummins or the magnum?
baxter 11-16-2010, 11:22 AM my worst car would be my first. it was an 83 honda accord that my uncle gave me when i was 14. My dad and i fixed it up but i never actually drove it. My dad ended up selling it for like 500 dollars and i bought another car.

one of the best diesel engines ever made along side the cummins.
wuzup76020 11-16-2010, 11:27 AM is that a cummins or the magnum?
5.9L magnum 4x4. Its run like a beast since we had in my family at 13,000 miles in 98. It now has 290,000 on it but its due for its first valve job this winter. Tears up the off road and ive never gotten stuck....anywhere :lol
IndiGIXXER 11-16-2010, 12:05 PM how do you like the x5 if you still have it? problem free?
I still have it but haven't had it for very long time. So far it has been problem free but expensive to maintain. For example, stealership oil change is about $130.
-Magnum- 11-16-2010, 12:17 PM I still have it but haven't had it for very long time. So far it has been problem free but expensive to maintain. For example, stealership oil change is about $130.
can you do it yourself, or is it like vw's where it requires its own specific tools to work on the car?
best fd3s mazda rx7. excellent car, would melt panties anywhere you went. eventually blew up.
worst oil burnin' 83 corolla with broken engine mounts and running on 3cylinders.
can you do it yourself, or is it like vw's where it requires its own specific tools to work on the car?
its a diy job
those bmws have a metal plate underneath, and the drain plug is screwed in by a hex key
CoolBlue 11-16-2010, 01:57 PM I've only owned 2 cars, so my worst now is my '94 Honda Civic with no AC and very limited heat.
Nicest is my '03 Chevrolet Silverado SS. AC and heat work like a dream, it is pretty peppy for a truck, AWD hasn't let me down yet, very comfy for larger guys. The only downside is the 13 MPG. lol
gixx1000 11-16-2010, 07:31 PM Worst: 1982 chevy citation - super shitty, even for a $500 car. Mechanically, electrically...an abomination. It did survive a major crash though. In fact, you couldn't even tell it had been in a wreck. The other car was a grand am which suffered massive front end damage. I barely even felt the impact. My car had just a little scratch on the door. Small, heavy and slow, and built like a f'n tank.
Best: 2003 ford cobra, modified - still miss it
Dirty Dick 11-17-2010, 11:38 AM one of the best diesel engines ever made along side the cummins.
thats what i keep hearing :thumbup Before i pulled the trigger on this one i was looking at an 04 with the 6.0L Luckily i was informed to stear clear of the 6.0 and found the one i have now. I bought it at 121k miles this past jan and now has 130k.

You could change the oil yourself but resetting the codes can be challanging....
depends on the year of the x5, but i think 01 at later, you can reset straight from the dash
flyingpig70 11-17-2010, 01:25 PM I still have it but haven't had it for very long time. So far it has been problem free but expensive to maintain. For example, stealership oil change is about $130.
Do it yourself, I still have an 03 we don't use much (54,000 miles), but they are easy to work on, www.xoutpost.com has it all if you want to DYI.
baxter 11-17-2010, 03:51 PM thats what i keep hearing :thumbup Before i pulled the trigger on this one i was looking at an 04 with the 6.0L Luckily i was informed to stear clear of the 6.0 and found the one i have now. I bought it at 121k miles this past jan and now has 130k.
yea, those 6L's are one of the worst diesel engines ever made. apparently the 06-08's are better due to working some of the kinks out, but id never buy one. now they went to a 6.4L so who know how this one will be. they should just stick to whats good. 7.3L !!!
post a pic up of it.

Suzuki Duke 11-18-2010, 09:30 AM The nicest I've owned is definitely my current, my 2006 GMC Sierra. It's tough to say what's the shittiest, since I've been a broke student most of my driving life.
Some of my friends thought my 96 Saturn SL2 was crappy, but everything worked on it and it was in pretty good condition. If it was sportier looking and a 5 speed I probably would have kept it.
My 10 year old S-10 Blazer was great to me in the late 90's and early 00's. Too bad my parents let my brother borrow it and crash it. My 1974 El Camino before that was a beater. I tried for years to restore it, but it was rusting faster than I could fix it. When I cracked a head on the El Camino, I borrowed my grandmother's K-car LeBaron. That was the biggest POS I ever drove, but I didn't own it.
the fast one 11-19-2010, 09:05 PM nicest 05 loaded corvette

haha yeah that is what I was going for, I got a kick out of it esp when I moved into my house. I had the truck parked out front and was backing the vette out of my drive way when the garbage truck pulled up to get my garbage. They guy on the back of the truck looked at it and went "damn, you really do have a corvette and a nice one at that." :lmao I got a good chuckle out of that. The vette has been traded on of my 07 Silverado and a new car fund has begun. :punk:burnout
Ramrodthrusterpuppy 11-22-2010, 02:38 PM Worst car by far was my first...a 1977 Audi Fox station wagon, that car rusted so fast it was biodegradeable.

Ciaran1100 12-04-2010, 01:35 AM Your Lexus is awesome. Subaru is running 15lbs of boost.
When we 1st had it dyno'd after building motor it put out 683HP @ 18PSI which we thought was way too much as we'd only done 6 track days in an EVO X, so de-tuned for now.
Here is my crappiest car 91-92? Corolla I have no pictures of it, but I keep finding it on Google maps. Cost me 100. I never did any maintenance on it not even an oil change and sold it for 300. Went stealth with the hub caps :-D. Rusted Hood flew up on the highway at 70mph once, scary.

They are truly special cars, there is something about them every time you get behind the wheel, that just makes you want to DRIVE..The tuning done at BMW's Motorsport division is magic.
E30's are what around 2900lbs? They are a joy to drive..I would like to recondition a e30m3 one day when I have the time and right car :cheers
8you4t 12-14-2010, 09:22 PM dont know if to keep mine factory fresh , or mod it eg. mock m3 with a turbo ???
E92M3 12-14-2010, 09:31 PM If its all original I would keep it that way..They are classics now
8you4t 12-14-2010, 09:38 PM would be a shame , iv been eyeing off a e36 coupe 325 prob save going down that track for that .... iv worked on cars now for over 15 years and nothing is quite like bmw workmenship ....
wuzup76020 12-14-2010, 09:43 PM I would say the germans build things right but i would have to retract my statement simply because of VW :cursing
I will never ever own a VW. I had to take the ex's to the dealership just to change the light bulb on her beetle :wtf
E92M3 12-14-2010, 09:45 PM Yea you're better off modding a e36..not much more weight but more power and cheaper parts. There is a reason I always come back to BMW.Awesome cars for the money and motorsport engineering to boot.Gotta love it!
8you4t 12-15-2010, 06:05 AM true that mate :)
CoolBlue 12-15-2010, 09:06 PM I have only had 3 cars but i would have to say
Worst: 93 honda civic hatch.. motor was built but reliability was SHIT.. constantly broke down and wouldn't pass emissions unless i unplugged two injectors
Best: current car, 2004 Chevy Silverado single cab. Bought it bone stock and have done many upgrades. only downfall is its a V6. Upon Graduation from college im thinking about swapping the engine to a 5.3 or 6.0 v8
Swap in a lq9, to get the engine to match your front bumper. lol You can have a baby SSS.
