Is it safe to use goo gone on the surface of the tank, I peel off the clear film feel the stickers but most of the stickers ended up staying on it . i tried my finger nail , but dont really want to create minor scratches on the tank also what should i use to polish my tank w/o putting minor scratches on it. Im just really anal i hate the minor scratches jus want to take care of my first brand new bike love the '04 750.

The best way to get those stickers off is to first heat them up with a hair dryer. As you are heating it begin to pull the sticker off. After its off I used goo gone to take any remaining glue off. Then I used a soft all cotton cloth to wax the area. I used mothers liquid carnuba wax. You want to use a liquid it is less abrasive. Good Luck

just let it sit for 30 mins to 1 hour in the sun they come right off. the bike is brand new. It comes right off no problem.

What I did was pick them off with my finger nail for 30 minutes. I think that is way more fun than heating them up and having them come right off.

HA! I did what Bob did ... peeled it off with my finger nail (its sore today) and then used WD40 to clean off the glue. A coat of wax and life is good.

Like most of my hair, my "hair dryer" doesn't exist http://www.gixxer.com/forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Don't overheat it with the hairdryer. The paint will come of if you heat it to long. And a bit of WD 40 after that will do the trick to clean up. http://www.gixxer.com/forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

De-natured alcohol will clean that glue off like nothing else, and it won't hurt the clear coat. I used a hair dryer to peel the stickers off (some came of easily in one piece, others fell apart into 100 pieces) and then gave it a rub down with a clean cloth dipped in de-nautred alcohol. Now you'd never even know that the thing had stickers on it in the first place.

Mine was a bitch and wouldn't come off until I used my fingernail and alot of bitchin'!! Is it going to be the same routine with the other warning labels on the plastic?? I haven't been in the mood to screw with those!!!

Yes Rob, there are 2 kinds of stickers, there is one kind that if you peel the edge up, it will come off with no problem. Then there is the pain in the ass kind, wich has a clear coating on top, and that will peel off easily, leaving the remains wich will be sticky when you touch it.

If it is on metal, or paint, use what ever you want to melt that shit, and scrape it off with your finger nails, if its on plastic, you will have to use your fingernails also, or you may scratch or scrape the plastic, if you use something too hard.

It's supposed to rain tomorrow, so maybe I'll bust out the swear jar and tackle the ones on the plastic!! If I can't ride her...... maybe I'll sit and play with her! http://www.gixxer.com/forums/images/graemlins/laugh.gif http://www.gixxer.com/forums/images/graemlins/laugh.gif

Hair dryer and a fingernail and a lot of patience did the trick for me. If I didn`t read about the hair dryer here I would have been screwed

i'd go with de-natured alcohol bro. By the way, those stickers are a bitch to get off aren't they? my friend was fuckin around with his for a good hour before he realize those things don't come off without some awfully strong chemical. the alcohol shouldn't hurt it. brake cleaner will work too. but my friend used de-natured alcohol. didn't leave a mark.

Well they're all off!! One out of all of them was a breeze! I never really noticed how many of those stickers were on there. I think they started multiplying when they knew I was getting pissed!

Rob
