Sure throw on a new oil and filter and ride it hard.

Be sure to give it a good once over.

I would keep on running with mineral oil or semi syn until at least 1500 miles.

Mineral oil for at least 3000 km, 5000 km is when i change to synthetic
(i used to work in a bike dealership)

Why did that person put only 200 miles on the bike and not ride it.
Be carefull.

What is the significance of using mineral oil during the break in period? Sorry, just never heard of using it.

Mineral oil is basically what comes in the bike when you buy it, aka regular oil.

Some feel syn is to slick to allow the rings to seat.

That being said many new cars come with syn right from the factory.

Wow, did not know that. I have always waited until about 2k miles then started on synthetic but never heard of they factory starting out on mineral oil. Thanks for the info.

Be careful.VV

So, ask the seller "what's the beef jerky." The 200 mile thing is a great question, but I can answer my less than 250 miles with nearly 4 months of new ownership. My situation is I hurt my foot training for a marathon & I can't get my riding shoes on.

If we think about this though 1000cc sportbikes, as well as the big bore dirt bikes, make some folks decide quickly "it ain't for me."

Just don't get pissed at the bike and do a stone cold stunner on it.
