Hi all,
I am looking to fit a set of flat bars to my Gixxer thou and have been told by a couple of people that they can be fitted without removing the fairings?? I dont really see how this is possible as surely the bars would hit the fairings when you turn??? If anyone has any advice/pics etc it would be most appreciated as I want to get it sorted out for the BIG wheelies in the summer!!!!

You can use a kit from Speigler that gives you the new upper tirple clame and bar mounts but you will need to use a straight drag bars to clear your fairing. If you just want higher bars I would look at Two Brothers riser bars as you can vary the rise asthey make different inserts but the reomend a 2.25 rise for the GSXR 1000.

I want to install renthals for my 1000 as well > questions:
1. What did you use to mount your handlebar? (bar mounts drilled into stock triple clamp?)
2. Which renthal handlebar did you use, and what size? (7/8"?)
3. Can you mount your stock throttle onto the new renthal bar?
4. Do you have to extend any lines? (brake/clutch/throttle?)
Any further info will be greatly appreciated. Thanks...

Used a new top yoke from a German company called LSL, they supply all the bits as a kit. the only new line is front brake, the throttle cable is just rerouted under the petrol tank.

The model of renthal bars are kown as "street fighter bars" here in th UK
