im installing a jet kit in my bike 99 gsxr600 wondering what to set the needles at to start its a yoshi jet kit

u should of got an instruction bucklet but if i remmember correctly last time i did a k&n jet kit for gixxer 600 was second that means 2 from bottom up

the kit has five slots so you think i should start at the 2nd spot i lost the book on the jet kit thats why i was wondering

If you do not have somebody exerpienced to walk you through it, it's best that you fork out some cash to have someone experienced do it.

Even if you do it correctly, odds are you will not have be able to tune it to its full potential given your bike's set-up, which means you wasted $$ on the jet kit.

SHOTOUT... Simple is a relative term. If you are mechanically inclined & have experience working on cycles then maybe it will be "simple" for you, but as previously posted it's not the install but the tuning that will require the expertise. I personally like to do as much as possible myself. I've burned myself, and I've been proud of myself. Specifically with jet kits; I have only installed one myself on my F4. No problems, BUT I was being coached by a friend who's a mechanic. What ever you do, GOOD LUCK! images/icons/grin.gif

thanks for the info i now how to work on some stuff and im trying to learn how to work with the carbs , thats why i wanted to install the jet kit myself but i lost the book on it and i was just wondering if there is a recomend slot to start with on the needles.

I have a factory Ti kit on my 750 and I started with the middle setting but I ended up having to drop the clip (secound slot from the bottom). I don't know if this helps being a 750. My 2 cents.....
