Running mine in at moment, changed oil at 240 miles and again last night at 400 miles. I have used a motorcycle specific mineral 10/40 oil. The original oil was a strange colour, sort of brownish. I wondered is there anything special about it?

By the way sort of stuck to 7K revs but wondered up to 8K and at about 350 miles on have been doing short goes (like for a second or so) up to nearly 10K revs. Mostly I stick to anout an 7-8K limit though. I only "stretch" the motor when good and warmed up though.

Oil that has come out had very slight amounts of metal in, like aluminium dust. Not very much though, very clean.

My last new bike (Honda XR650 dirt bike) had great slivers of stuff in it and lots of bits on it's first change of oil!

I know there have been lots of talk about running in but as our bikes are new models most guys will be talking about new bikes they have just or are running in so hopefully this is relevant.
