i want to adjust the rear ride height but its not like any i've seen. i'm used to loosening a bolt on top, lifting rear up with jack between rear tire and subframe to desired amount, turning bolt underneath to meet mount perch, lowering off the jack then tightening up top bolt again. this one looks like it has no bolt underneat?? do i loosen top one, undo shock bolt and raise up back then turn mount on threads?? is it threaded into the perch?? enquiring minds want to know.

No you have to add shims to the stock shock....no ride height adjustment on the stocker.

are you sure cause mine uses a threaded top that's held with a bolt. looks adjustable to me. i know the 03 wasn't but the 04 is different.

Positive... the stock Showa shock does not have ride height adjustability.

i'm not referring to the shock. i'm referring to the top shock mount. it looks like it threads into the frame. on others the top mount is adjusted with 2 nuts. one underneath and one on top. i was wondering if that's the case with this only its threaded into the frame thus requiring removal of the top shock bolt, lifting up and turning to desired height.

well you are absolutely correct and now i see exactly what you were meaning. its threaded but you need to buy large washers to adjust the height and secure it down with the top nut. jolly good!! so i went out and bout a stout but thin nut for underneath so i can now adjust it anytime i want. thanks for the input Shogun!!

wait with this washer you can lower the bike? and if so how much?

you can't lower the bike that way. you can raise it though. i'm 6 feet 200lbs and wanted a bit more rear height for when i'm doubling and carrying even my own weight.
