Any of you go to them? I just started...i dont feel any better, but i do notice that i dont slump over as much as i used to - has to be a good thing. p.s. the reason why i started going, something popped in my back and hurt like a bitch.

He fixed that and is working on my shoulder which has been hosed for 2 years now, the docs cant find anything...i have been to 5 and they all say it is ok, i tell them that it hurts, pops, weak, and tires when i work out. They give me pain pills and tell me to exersize it, but it has never helped.

But they cant find anything in x-rays and MRI's - I swear, the first thing the chiropractor said to me when he saw me was "whats wrong with your shoulder?" I said it isnt my shoulder that hurts, it is my back, and he says - "i know your back hurts, but what is wrong with your shoulder?" I told him that it has bothered for 2 years and I was like http://www.gixxer.com/forums/images/graemlins/banana.gif I am not crazy, 2 years and finally someone acknoleges that my pain and discomfort has a fixable problem. He has been workin my arm for a week now, and it still grinds - but feels about 50% better http://www.gixxer.com/forums/images/graemlins/punk.gif. I am so happy!!!

Any others have success with the quack doctors???

I used to go to one for a pinched nerve and they are total quacks but it did help me. I had to go six days a week for like a month and at first I just hurt more all of the time but then it started getting better and they were like oh your not better you need to come everyday still and then finally I quit going and they kept calling my house all of the time trying to get me to come back. I was paying a 15 dollar copay everytime I went in plus they were billing the insurance 200-300 everytime. The nerve still bothers me sometimes but overall it isn't as bad.

I went to one like 2 times..

I actually screwed up my neck lifting one day.. After like a week I almost went to the doctor but someone recomended going to the chiropractor.. So I tried that..

They said I pinched a nerve in my neck if I remember correctly.. It was so painfull, couldnt even think straight.. No matter how many aspirins or whatever I took it didnt touch the pain.

They cracked it a few times, then did some type of electironic shock thing.. Made your nerves twitch without you doing anything.. So my head was jerkin around and it was funny...

Felt dam good though after like 2 sessions and never went back.. Well worth the $50 I had to spend or whatever it came out to after insurance..

grab a book on yoga, cost you 20 bucks, and will save you hundreds in going to a chiropractor or whatever else. Just my suggestion and personal experience.

I have been going to a chiropractor for about 13 years. I (like a ton of other people) have scoliosis and was told surgery was my only option. Chiropractic can't necessarily correct the curvature of my spine, but the adjustments keep my back aligned so my nerves don't get pinched and I have minimal discomfort. http://www.gixxer.com/forums/images/graemlins/thumb.gif

I was pretty skeptical about it when I first started going, but considering my options, I'll stick with the chiropractor. http://www.gixxer.com/forums/images/graemlins/thumb.gif

Does your back bug you when you ride?

My back bugs me when I breathe.

Sitting, Standing, Riding...you name it. http://www.gixxer.com/forums/images/graemlins/dunno.gif

It's a pretty constant tingly-numbing sensation between my shoulder blades...I would say there's about 1-2 hours out of the day that I don't notice it. Also, because of the way my back is curved, my left hip gets "outta whack" and can send a searing pain down my leg, but that isn't too often, usually it's just a nagging pain in my left hip. http://www.gixxer.com/forums/images/graemlins/cry.gif

But...even with that crap, I'm in way better shape than I'd be in if I didn't have a chiropractor.
