at my local dealer, there is a blue/white 04 750 with a blue muffler. Did this come from the factory like this or is this an option of some sort. I can probably get some pictures if needed since i go there once a week.

they come with a blue plastic film over the can, same as visors for helmets do, and they peel it off. Or maybe its an after market pipe.

You did not really think the muffler was blue?

Being an '04 I doubt it has an aftermarket can on it.

bingo. The tech didn't remove the blue plastic when he PDI'd the bike.
