I have moved legs to 'Day 1' of my workout week. Does it matter? Legs are so big, does it drain the rest of my body parts for the rest of the week?

i like to do legs on day one or day 2.. usually day 2 is best, then do back at the end of my week, working the smaller gorups in beween. i feel that im giiving the most recovery to my legs that way.

I have my legs on day one also.

perhaps a lack of supplementation? i hit my legs fairly hard and soreness lasts 2 days tops http://www.gixxer.com/forums/images/graemlins/dunno.gif

Well when you say supplementation what does that mean? (Sorry I am totally new to weight training)

When I was in high school playing basketball I remember never having an issue with legs and now it seems that it takes me forever to recover. A few days ago I kept asking Paul if I pulled a hamstring muscle because one leg fucking hurt! And then it went away four days later. Before I always worked on arms and shoulders but never legs because I assumed the elliptical would get them toned. And I eat so much chicken and turkey I want to puke so I doubt its a protein issue http://www.gixxer.com/forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif

I think she is still referring to her first two weeks doing legs.
She'll be good after this week.

Thanks guys. Glad to see training legs on day 1 is normal.

Speedy - After a month, your legs will only be sore for two days of getting on and off the toilet.

I usually train them either day 1 or 2.Simply for the fact that I train chest on day 1 and sometimes my chest is so tight I have problems stretching my arms to hold the bar when I squat.

I wouldn't train them the day before or after back as you need your back to be strong and not sore for quad day for all that weight you use http://www.gixxer.com/forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif

legs usually come after doing sholder adn bis.. same problem too, gotta get warmed up and stretch really good, but the 1st 2-4 sets are hard on the shoulders getting them to stretch http://www.gixxer.com/forums/images/graemlins/plthumbsdown.gif

There is no right time to train any body part. For some body parts it makes more sense to spread them out, depending on what type of a split your doing. For example if you do a six day split like me, training Mon-Fri only, you'll train every body part 5 times in 6 weeks like this:

Monday Tuesday Wednesday Thursday Friday

1 2 3 4 5
6 1 2 3 4
5 6 1 2 3
4 5 6 1 2
3 4 5 6 1
2 3 4 5 6

Therefore it wouldn't make much sense to train chest after shoulders since your chest and tri's will be sore from training them the day before. You'd be much better off training something like back the day before thereby giving yourself time to rest up. For legs, there's really nothing else that involves them. Since I find they exhaust me more than any other muscle group, I'd train them on Friday if I could. But as you can see day 6 (thigh day) comes on all days of the week, depending on where in my cycle I am. If I could train legs on one day every week, I would definitely pick Friday so I could have the weekend to be crippled.
