Hey guys. Let me just start off by saying I love gsxr's. So I'm not trying to ask for any flame or anything against them lol I'm just tryin to get a better idea of how they can compare. I really like the newer Daytona's as well. A friend of mine who is a bike salesman was telling me that the Daytona is a sick bike, but one of the most uncomfortable bikes you'll ever ride. Has anyone rode one? Or maybe even own one? Are they reliable? Expensive to fix and maintain?
Also how would one of them stack up against a gsxr 600/750? I'm just trying to get a better perspective before I go buying a new bike. I def plan to ride one. As well a newer ninja.
Any help would be greatly appreciated! :cheers

I might be the perfect person to answer this one for you. If ergo's are the only problem you have with the daytona, you are in great luck. my current bike is the Triumph Street Triple R is basically the same bike as the daytona, but naked and more street friendly. It's essentially a little more comfortable version of the daytona (slightly lower HP, lower rearsets for comfort, handlebars, slightly softer rear spring, etc.). The triumph bikes are extremely reliable as I've only heard of one spontaneously combust into flames (however, this was a daytona and not the street triple R). Other than a few electrical gremlins here and htere, triumph makes solid bikes!

Hmm def something to ponder. I would love to see one run/ride in person. I've only seen one at a bike show. Such a sexy looking bike. I would just want something that's bearable to ride for a few hours at least.

I know but I wouldn't be able to afford an 09. They're so sick. Just too much money. Hah

has anyone ridden the Triumph Daytona 675? are they really uncomfortable? how would they compare power wise to a GSXR 600? ive seen in comparison videos that they rev slightly higher?
a friend of mine might be buying an 08 ZX6R and i was given the privilege of giving it a test run (im licensed and hes not, im also more experienced) and it was a great ride! granted i only went up the street, felt very different than my 04 600.
the 3 bikes im looking into getting are either another Gixx, a ZX6R, or a Daytona 675. Ive only ridden my previous 04, and the 08 ZX6R. Id like to at least try the Daytona to see how i like it.

A) Triumph Dealerships are really good about having demo bikes. Check out one of their dealerships with your riding gear and insurance documentation for your current bike. I'm almost positive you'll be able to ride a daytona and a street triple R.
B) Factory Demo Tour - Triumph has these huge trucks that go from city to city to demonstrate their bikes. Check online to see when the trucks will be in your area and you can sign up to test ride.
C) Triumph675.net - A lot of the guys on there are pretty chill. If you can find someone in your area, they might be willing to meet up so you can check out their bike. At the very least, you might be able to check out the classified section there and see if you can find a good deal on a used one.
Search is your friend... :thumbup

id love to go check out a triumph dealer. theres a few near my house that i could go check out. but i dont have a current bike, would they not allow a test ride? i do have my license, but i would assume they wouldnt allow a test ride without some type or credit card. :\
ill definitely check out daytona675.net never really dove into searching for a forum, might be a better place to find how it could compare. i actually sent ToeJam a PM asking how he liked it but i think hes been offline for a while. Thanks for finding that write up for me! :thumbup
