First off want to say hi, I am new to the forums.

I had purchased what I had thought was a Yoshimura slip on for an 03 gsxr 600 on ebay. But when I recieved it in the mail it came with a midpipe attached to it. I am assuming that this was part of a full exhaust instead of a slip on. The exhaust cannister has the same 4 bolt pattern that a bolt on has to it. but I have tried to undo the bolts that are attached to the midpipe but they will absolutely not come off. They are rusted and it took me awhile just to untread it a few milimeters. My question is if the cannister is meant to come off the midpipe as if it were a slip on. I wanted to take it to a shop and see if an impact wrench would be able to get the bolts out but I figured I would ask here first...

They could not get it off so they cut it off the header.

Take it in as you said, or just use PB Blaster on the bolts.

If it has bolts, then it is a bolt on/slip on.

No bolts, has springs and slides on the mid pipe, it is part of a full system.

Here are some pics of the yosh.... It came from a 03 gsxr 1000. but i was told that the can will fit the 600/750/1000. just not sure why there would be a midpipe since you need to cut into the exhaust. I would figure one would get either a full exhaust or just a bolt on cannister. its just strange cause those bolts are on there like superglue.... I had to hit the wrench with a hammer repeatedly just to move the bolt a few inches...lol

use impact gun and get it out.
