What are the best rearsets ... what do you ride?????

Best is a very subjective term... what is available:

Gilles
Woodcraft
Vortex
One Second Faster
Sato
Yoshimura
LighTech
Rizoma
Attack
Graves
Arata
Driven.... and on and on and on....

What are you going to do with the bike ?(Street or Track)... are you concerned about replacement parts? Do you want more bling or functionality?

I like the inexpensive ones that have available parts ... so

Woodcraft and One Second Faster is where I would look first. Some hate Vortex... (don't crash well? or so I am told)

Gilles look well built and look like they could take a beating too.. lots of bling with colour too as well as Sato.

My '07 1000 street bike still has the stock ones on so I can't tell you about them for this bike.. I have One Second Fasters on my SRAD 1000 Swap and on my SRAD 750 track bike.. only because I got 2 sets for a smoking deal ($400ish CAD)

You can also check out pro lux racing. He has plates that allow you to move your stock pegs to damn near any position you could ever want them. I absolutely love them on my bike

Bang for the buck would probably be vortex.

Most adjustable and trick would probably go to the Gilles VCR...

Like Corey said above.

Vortex seems to be the racers choice for crashability/replacement parts availability/cost ratio.

Woodcraft are also up there for the above mentioned reasons.

street and track .. no bling .. it got to be functional first ... and a lot of ajustement

Then I think Vortex is what you want, it has more adjustability than Woodcraft from what I've seen. More than likely at any given track you'd be able to find replacement parts for either of those much easier than any of those others.

either vortex or woodcraft. i have used both, and they both work great, have plenty of adjustment, crash well, and the availability/price of replacement parts is great.

the reason i would pick the vortex over the woodcraft is due to grippier footpegs, which comes in handy when making quick transitions and through long, fast corners. however, this will wear through the soles of your boots quickly, not sure if that matters to you or not.

Remember that you are going to have to move/replace the rear brake fluid reservoir or replace the hose when moving your rearsets.

Nice article. It's one of the very few I've seen that mention the TiForce I have, that I really like.

With regard to Valter Moto, they actually make six rearsets and the article only mentions one of their lower end products. But their higher end products are pricey and spare parts are not going to be readily available. Sure look neat though. I'm searching for someone who has their 3.5 rearsets.

They used to be more widely available but the only source that I know of now is GPR Stabilizers. GPR had a large truck in the paddock at the recent Laguna Seca races with Valter Moto painted on the side. I tried to talk to them about VM products but every time I went by no one was there.

One of the display bikes in the Yamaha(?) tent had a very nice looking rear stand with the VM logo. I don't see any such product in their catalog.

I didn't want to start a new thread about the same topic so..... can the vortex be modified to accept the rear brake switch?

I'm looking for a rearset as well, but need the functionality of the rear brake light. I like Vortex for their ease in obtaining replacement parts. I've heard a lot of good things about Sato Racing as well (but it'll probably be a b!tch to get any spares).

Any suggestions on modified rear brake switch?

Not the oem one. It uses an inline banjo bolt brake switch. You can use this with any brand of rearsets. It's a banjo bolt with a built in pressure switch that you swap out with the banjo bolt on your rear master cyl. Two wires coming out of the back of it and you wire it into your brake light switch wires.

Ok, I get it. Same concept as the pressure switch banjo bolt on the front brembo m/c (not mechanical switch).

If this pressure switch can installed on any rearsets, then what is the advantage of the brake switch that's included with Sato's rearsets?

Thanks for the quick response.

I love my Vortex rear sets but they do tear up the soles of my boots. Good thing that Alpinestars re-soles them for cheap.

We run those on our bike. You'll like them. Just don't touch the footpegs with bare skin or you'll walk away bloody for sure...
