Hey everyone,

Like the title says Im from Abbeville, South Carolina in the market for a 06-07 GSX-R600 for a reasonable price. I'm wanting it for a few yrs to finish up college and then prolly get rid of it (unless i fall in love with it). I have a budget of about $4,000 seeing as how im a college student and didn't know if anyone has or can keep an eye out for me a good deal.

I have been looking on craigslist, ebay and trader. The only thing i have found is a guy in my town is selling an 06 GSX-r600 with 18,880miles for $3,500. The kicker is last summer he got ran off the road and it tore up the left side fairings pretty bad and scratched the right side up a lil bit. It's bad enough to where if i were to buy it i would want to buy some cheap hong kong fairings off ebay or something. Also, the clutch lever has been broke off about an inch or so and probably could use new grips. However, it does come with a black Icon Timax 2 jacket that actually fits me and two HJC helmets.

Do you guys think that sound worth it? Thanks ahead of time for the info!

-Drew

Welcome Drew. Be carefull who you talk to in here. Some of these guys are real assholes, they are not cool & classy like me. I would shop more if the guy seems firm at that price. You should be able to find a clean, not-dropped one in that range. The miles are not a big deal if the bike is maintained right, especially oil changes. The motors are damn long lived on these bikes. Try to track down private deals, a lot of people need money right now & have to get rid of nice bikes. Cycle Trader, E-bay, Craigs list. The 600's are real popular. :cheers

Yeah i know. I would rather not have to buy a new set of fairings if i don't have to. And if i can wait i would imagine people will be more likely to sell their bike for a lower price in the colder season when people still need some money.
Thanks for the heads up! i'll keep looking around! Yall keep an eye out for me if you could!

Thanks,
-Drew

You will for sure see prices drop in about early Aug on. The cheap fairing sets seem to be a crap shoot. Some guys have had good luck with them. Others have had several pieces crack quickly, for no reason. Some sets look to fit pretty well, some fit like shit.

haha yeah i guess it just depends then huh? thats why I would rather not have to if i could avoid it like you said. It's like its like gambling, you never know what you'll get till its too late...

BUMP...Would that bike be a little more worth it if for some reason he came down to $3,00? and still threw in the jacket and two helmets? I would still probably get a set of fairings though...

Either get a gs500 or a sv650 if you want to stay suzuki. A 600 will get you in trouble quick.
