Ever since I replaced my clutch plates and springs, which were OEM, the bike doesn't shift as smooth as it did before. Also, when I first roll the bike out of the garage with the clutch lever pulled in, it's sometimes hard to wheel backwards as if it were slightly still in gear. Once I move that issue seems to go away but the shifting motion just doesnt feel as smooth as before and it almost seems that my clutch lever is harder to pull in. When i replaced the clutch I flushed all the hydraulic fluid in the clutch lever reservoir, put new DOT4 fluid, bled the lines and did a fresh oil change with full synthetic Motul 300v. I'm starting to think that I may have over tighten the springs possibly. Also, I heard in the past, that sometimes racers will use two new springs and two old springs when they replace the clutch for a better feel. Are any of these characteristic related to springs or am I in the wrong direction!?

I sure don't like the idea of breaking a new clutch in on synthetic oil. Did you soak the plates in engine oil before assembly?

This has been debated to death... there is absolutely NO harm in breaking in a clutch with synthetic oil... there is nothing wrong with putting in Synth oil at the first oil change either...

The clutch springs need to be torqued to 7ftlbs. Did you offset the last friction plate and make sure that the tab on the pressure plate was aligned with the slot on the inner basket?
