first ride on my 1000 K6, runs very sweet but at 4500rpm- cough, splutter you can drive through it but i've not pushed it.
I've no fault lights or codes, double checked the wires sockets etc, running out of ideas!
I'm about to check STP & TP readings, I'm thinking they may be the problem, ( the bike was very damaged gas tank pushed right down on to the TB's) any ideas please?
Ps,, the exhaust valve has been removed & the wire snipped ( ECU ) & the TR has had been fooled into staying in 5th gear.

Ive found the secondary valves are parked wide open, even when started up, they would be closed at low rev's won't they? ( no F1 light or fault codes when the dealer mode socket is used ),
Would this be the servo or sensor or ECU? any one? thanks

Might the damage have affected the motor for the secondary throttle or its sensor? I've forgotten but I think that it's wide open when the bike is off. You could try disconnecting the leads to the secondary motor, push it open if necessary, and go for a ride. You'll get a C28 error but it should otherwise be OK. If the flat spot goes away take a look at pages 4-65 thru 72, 5-16, and 5-22 of the service manual for more info. Pray that it's the sensor as the motor is not sold separately.

Check your injectors, they might need cleaning. Has the bike been sitting for a while?

Billv, i'll give it a go,
Yes, the bike probably has been stood a while.
Are the additives any good, or do the injectors need coming off? thanks

I've run it with the secondary's open & the servo disconnected, still the same.
I'll take off the injectors & check the spray patten.
Any other ideas? thanks

I've found the problem- the TPS was bad, although it did not show up as a fault.

Glad you got it solved. When you say TPS was bad, you mean out of adjustment or the TPS unit itself was bad & needed to be replaced?

Yes, please elaborate. I gather that it was the main and not the secondary sensor (they're physically very close). Was there a dead zone or what? Any physical damage on the outside of the sensor? There's a thread in the general forum which might be the same issue but his incoherent run-on posts make it hard to understand.

The primary TPS was faulty, some one had a spare put that on & it's fine.
Lookiing at the old one, the is a hard to see hair line crack on the body, must have been when the tank was crushed in the bad accident.
I'm greatfull the servo was ok!
Thanks for your help!!!
