I just picked up a 07 gsxr1000 w/ 1800 miles. Everything checked out ok except when i went on my first ride today. I was in 6th gear, and when i pulled to about 8500rpm, it seems to hesitate for a few seconds and then jolts past that 8500rpm mark. Any ideas?

In my opinion 8500 RPM's is low to be in 6th gear.

did it do it only once? does it do it consistently?
What's the elevation where you are at ?
Does it do it in the mountains too ?
What does it do at sea level ?
The same when it's cold ?
Might just be a map ?

im at about 5000, haven't taken it to the mtns, sea level, and it doesnt get cold here yet. The bike does have a slip on. Im wondering if a FI computer and a tune will fix this.

I have a completely stock K7 that I ride at altitude all the time. No hesitation whatsoever. My guess is that if you return it to stock condition it will run perfectly.

wow that's pretty good! I think since the yoshi deleted the cat, that its a a/f problem. I'm going to try a bazzaz w/ auto map unit. Hopfully that will work

8500 in 6th is about 140 mph do you think that is too slow for 6th ?
