My mate is looking to buy a GSXR600 after riding mine :punk :biggrin He's been riding for some 5 years or so. He doesn't have the cash for a new one so he wants to buy second hand.

Are there any particular years to avoid? Any years which produced a better bike than others? Also what year did they become fuel injected (or was it so long ago that it doesn't matter)?

He is looking for something post 2000. Just thought I'd tap into the collective minds of the Suzuki brain bank to hopefully not get a lemon.

They were all great bikes, but in 2004 they redesigned the entire bike and IMO that is when the style, handling and engine performance really made a big step up. Not to say and pre 2004 bikes are shitty or anything but after riding both I really noticed the difference.
