I am searching for a used bike in the GTA and I have gone out to check several and I have noticed that some of the earlier models like an '02 have a much larger tank and seem to be quite a bit wider than later models like an '08.

What year did this body style change?

earlier models were much larger. i think k4/k5 they got a little skinnier, but it was k6/k7 that it got much smaller

I have a K5 (2005). And my buddy just picked up a K6 (2006) His bike is much thiner then mine is. Also has a lower sit height as well i believe.

the major body/engine change was in 2004 for the 600/750's.

06 is the year they started the style they have now.

The 04 model is definately when the large changes came. Look at an 03 and an 04 next to each other and you'll notice straight away. The body is more pointed and sleek, and the tail is much more sharp. But then again with the 06they made the shape even thinner still.

Biggest difference is definatley in the 03-04 change though, much much more modern.

own an 04/05 and owned an 06/07. The 06/07 model is when they stopped having the full fairing look and became a smaller bike. I actually prefer my 04/05 over the 06/07 that I had.
