It has zero calories and no sugar. Is it okay or no? If not, why not? If not, how is drinking black coffee any better?

been discussed extensively. Go back a page or two and you'll find it. Let's not start this one again. http://www.gixxer.com/forums/images/graemlins/laugh.gif

well.... i drink diet all the time. unless i'm trying to look really cut up. ANY sodium will make you hold water. so no diet sodas.. no salt... basically plain everything. This is not really nessassary though... you can still loose weight and drink diet sodas... you'll just hold more water. when you want to look ripped... ween off it a week or so and you'll cut right up.

Thanks that's all I wanted was the short condensed version. I'll keep it up as I can imagine the caffine helps speed up the old metabolism and if I need to cut up for something (I'm a long way right now from a can of soda being noticable on my body) I'll cut it out.

Thanks.

what spidey said is right on the money but I'll add just a little more.

There's only 30-35 mg of sodium in a diet soda. Even when you cut down on your sodium you really don't need to worry about it unless you are a serious bodybuilder. There are tons of places you can cut a ton more sodium out of your diet.

For instance, pasta sauce has nearly 1000 mg per serving. So does soy sauce and soup. V8's have a few hundred.

By just switching to imitation salt which doesn't taste bad at all, you'll be putting a huge dent in sodium intake.

You would have to drink like 20 sodas to equal the same amount of sodium as a single soup or marinara sauce serving.

That and I add salt to NOTHING in my day to day eating. I don't like the taste of anything with extra salt added to it. So, if I drink a couple diet sodas a day, I guess it is my vice.

Ohh just a small note too, Coffee has like no cal's (well I think its like 5-6 per cup) So a few Black coffee aday would also be fine http://www.gixxer.com/forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif

You took the words right outta my mouth! You can also drink unsweetened iced tea for caffeine. Personally I try to stay away from tea and coffee though because I worry about staining my teeth over the long run. I'm weird I guess but what good is having a rock hard body if you have some yellow fugly teeth. I drink a cup of black coffee before I work out and that's about it.

I can't stand coffee so that isn't even an option.

you can try iced or hot tea instead... the point of the coffee is for the caffeine kick. it's a good metabolism lifter while your stuck at a desk 9-5. http://www.gixxer.com/forums/images/graemlins/thumb.gif

I'm not really stuck at the desk 9-5. I get up when I feel like it and sit at my desk as much or little as I want and leave when I want. It's a beautiful thing. http://www.gixxer.com/forums/images/graemlins/banana.gif

I also drink diet soda when I want a kick o' da caffeine and to help speed up ye ol' metabolism.
