Hey guys .. yup in need of a new bike and am stuck with 3 different choices.. 04 R1 , GSX600 or 750. The new R1 looks stunning can't deny that! I'm looking to track the bike that I'm planning to get not so often.. Heard the 600 Gixxer 04 is the ultimate bike for flicking through turns and handle's good. Fast light agile.. When I sat on the R1 I don';t know why it scared me a bit .. seating postion or just the thought of the 998cc's underneath me I dunno.. I want a bike to have fun with.. track once in a while and keeps up with the best of them. I want to feel confidence riding what I have. So what do u have u think guys? I should go with which bike and why?

Got news for you if you want the bike for track and Street, I would suggest the GSXR 750. The 750 is only a pound or two heavier than the 600 with the same geometry. This will give you a little extra HP and power for street use (highway riding, top gear rollons to pass cars, and little more fun factor)
The R1 if you are not experienced for track can be a bit much. (I sold my GSXR 1000 to get a 600 for racing, just too much power to try and learn to go fast).
The 600 and 750 should handle about the same as weight and Geometry are identical. The 750 will be easier to ride on the track as the R1 and can be just as Fast especially for a novice or intermediate track rider). I had guys doing the same lap times as me on a 1000 on 600's and 750's.
Plus insurance should be cheaper on the 750. If power isn't an issue save a grand and get the 600 and put it to track mods (plastic, brakes, pipe, tires, suspension, ETC)

get a used 600. I don't know if you know anything about track riding, but if you don't then don't even think about anything bigger than a 6. in fact you could get two bikes used and in great condition for the price of one. and one of them could be something like a 929 or so, and get another gixxer for the track.
get the new 600. when you can ride it to its ful potential, move to something bigger. as for street/hgwy riding, it has waaaaaaaay more HP/torque than necessary for either. have fun!!

Seeing how he as a ZX 9r he knows how to handle some power, so the 750 won't be too much faster than what he has already. It will just handle better than current bike.
I feel the 750 is a good compromise between the 600, R1 and his ZX 9r.
I have not ridden the new 750's but would love to. I know I am really looking forward to riding a 600 on the track (did once for 2 days at Keith Code school)
It was so easy to roll the power one even 3rd gear 3/4 throttle knee on the ground and the D207 ZR (not even the RR or GP) had plenty of Grip.
My GSXR 1000 1/2 throttle 3rd gear (about 7000 rpm and rolling) coming up off the knee on D207 zr and the rear was sliding gripping, sliding, gripping the whole time till upright.
I got Race tires next time and could feel the frame and swingarm twisting out of the same turn instead of the tires slipping. Race Tires 600cc TRACTION
