All your problems would be solved if you were running newer software than Win9x... you're needing USB drivers, etc.
Panasonic site isn't much help, couldn't find your model # when you flip to the driver download section. You can give it a shot, I gave up trying. Found a pic of your camera on there though.. http://www.gixxer.com/forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif
Panasonic site - sv-av20 clicky (http://catalog2.panasonic.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/SupportModelDetail)
Scratch that. Java servlet error... http://www.gixxer.com/forums/images/graemlins/bash.gif
You'll have to click the 'consumer electronics' link and enter your model number... Panasonic dot com support clicky (http://www.panasonic.com/support/default.asp)
Good luck

Actuallu im running winxp on a very high powered laptop, I found the sortware on the panosonic sight and downlaoded it, uzipped it and ssave it to a file on my hard drive then opened it and installed it and as soon as I hooded my camera up to the USB it recognized it instantly and my pictures and mpegs where all uploaded, so problem solved........
PS. I have four USB ports, Rob http://www.gixxer.com/forums/images/graemlins/laugh.gif

Yeah yeah. XP lover. http://www.gixxer.com/forums/images/graemlins/bitchslap.gif I love my 98se. Less user friendly and it's fun and challenging. But I have 2 USB ports on my dinosaurex computer, and still needed USB drivers (specific to the camera model) to work with it. I was under the impression that a camera's USB support is already a part of XP. http://www.gixxer.com/forums/images/graemlins/dunno.gif That's why I figured you were running 9x. We've got a computer here at work that's XP... I just plugged my camera in and I was uploading without any software.
Well, happy to hear you found your software downloads. http://www.gixxer.com/forums/images/graemlins/thumb.gif I couldn't find anything on there with your model number except the picture of it. But it was pretty early in the morning when I was looking and I hadn't had my quota of coffee...
Nice looking camera. I like the idea of mpeg movies. Mine's an Olympus and it makes Quicktime videos. Grrrrrr. I wonder if there's a way to convert them to mpegs.
