: Kawi parts on a Suzie?

Recently bought a K6 that needs a little TLC.

Front brake master cylinder looks a bit aged- like been out in the sun a bit too long.

Recalled that a while back Suzie and Kawi shared parts so while I was at Kawasaki today I eyeballed the master cylinder on the ZX10R and low and behold- they're a perfect match.

Kawasaki Ninja ZX10R front master cylinder:

Price from Kawasaki is less than ten bucks! :biggrin (Same part for Suzuki K5 / K6 is about $40.00 plus shipping from Bikebandit)

What's up with that? Is Kawasaki really cheap or is Bikebandit really expensive?! :dunno

A lot of the fairing bolts and fasteners on my Gixxer are old and some broke when I tried to remove them so I'm replacing them with locally made cheap-as-chips Kawasaki fasteners. I wonder what other parts are interchangeable...

Ride On!

some parts are similar
depends specifically which parts you are looking for though. There are subtle variations in the master cylinders through the years, even though they are all Nissin units.
If you just want to swap the whole master, it's a bolt-on.

Yeah- for now I'll change the master as the original one looks old and brittle. Was planning to bleed the brakes anyway so might as well throw on a new master at the same time. Ride On! Tony

couldn't hurt. I usually end up using Kawasaki clutch perches too since they are 2 pc. design. you just end up with zx10 levers instead, which is no big deal

It happens. I had 05 R1 brakes on my 04 ZX10. had to swap to ZX14 rotors but it made a HUGE difference
