So I figured it was the power supply so I got a new one installed and no dice....

Soooooo whats next....

Is it the mobo thats cooked.... is there a way to be sure befor i throw more cash at it....

Do you get nothing at all? How about The BIOS at boot, do you see that? If you don't get anything at all it sounds like your MB might be fried, it happens from time to time from PS spikes when it dies. There are jumper setting sometimes that you can reset the config. in the BIOS to stock settings. Give that a try and see what happenes. http://www.gixxer.com/forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

yep no power.. nothing...no biois nothing.... hit the power button and its like its unpluged....

visually inspect your board also, i just replaced one that had a bank of burnt capacitors.....check the voltage from the power cord, or plug it into the monitor and make sure that turns on....Start at the wall and work your way inwards.....

funny fix.... I pulled the video card put it back in.. and its now working.... strange... conectors must have oxidized over time enough to cause some kind of drain on the power supply... or something like that

Sometimes with older motherboard(ones that don't have clips for AGP cards) the back end of the card will pop out of the slot when the case screws are tightened.
