I dunno jack about starting a site but I would like to start a custom painting website. Ive been looking for good painting sites and really havent found anything. Whats the best way to go about starting one up?

register a URL then buy space on some host and upload the html on it.

godaddy.com is a great place to register a domain.

webhost4life.com is a good domain space provider, cheap, reliable and fast.

microsoft frontpage is fairly easy to write html with, if you're feeling a bit more advanced try macromedia's dreamweaver. Keep in mind it's not something you will find easy at first, it will take some getting used to, lots of trial and error. but once you get it, it's cake.

if you just want to post photo galleries Adobe photoshop can do batch processing, which is pretty sweet too.

index.htm is the key to getting started.

buy a domain from namecheap.com or godaddy.com.

www.webhosttalk.com (http://www.webhosttalk.com) is a good spot for reading up on different hosts.
