lol, i hear ya... i'd be running the beaches if i were you. you can always get back to lifting when you get back.... besides, you ARE doing 12oz curls everyday. http://www.gixxer.com/forums/images/graemlins/smirk.gif not only would you get to enjoy the puerto rico sand, I'm sure the "other" scenery would be nice too. http://www.gixxer.com/forums/images/graemlins/lick.gif http://www.gixxer.com/forums/images/graemlins/laugh.gif

oh man... i'm suddenly becoming very envious of you. i haven't been to the beach in ages.

God I'd love to move back for a year or something. If you get a chance, hit the beaches in Rincon, Boqueron and Bayamon. But Durado in San Juan is where the women are.

If you can get to El Yunque rain forest, there's some great hiking trails there.

check out the El Carib inn. My fathers company had a permanent room rental at the time so I spent months there. It's very nice but not too pricey. There's so much to do there. It only takes a few hours to get from one side of the island to the other. Snorkeling and checking out the coral reefs was always my favorite. Check out the tropical rain forest, the casinos, el morro fortress in old san juan.

Fun cities to visit are Ponce, Mayaguez, Boqueron. There's also a water park and some other stuff. One thing you'll notice is a burger kind every ten feet. There's literally a burger king across the street from another burger king.

And the pizza huts are much nicer. They have a bottle of wine at every table and full bar. http://www.gixxer.com/forums/images/graemlins/laugh.gif

I don't know about the gym's but PR is sweet. I went for two weeks and bounced all over. Aricibo to see the largest radio telescope in the world and the caves of camuy. Rincon for the beach, Old San Juan for the history and I stayed in Vieques to go to the bioluminescent(sp?) bays. That was the best part of the trip. Check the link: http://www.biobay.com/ Its well worth your time and it really does look like the pictures.

If you go don't take one of the commercialized boat trips. There's an american guy on the island that does tours in individual kayaks where you paddle yourself and you can get out and swim. A couple of hours paddling around in one of those things is a great upper body workout. I can't remember the guys name but there are only a handful of tour places so he should be easy to find. Have fun!

There are microorganisms in the water called dino flagellates. They are kinda like fireflies and they are in all water but there are only a select few spots in the world where they are in high enough concentration to be seen with the naked eye. Vieques has two of them. Vieques also has beautiful beaches and snorkeling but the general population there is very poor so there probably aren't any women worth hooking up with. Rincon and San Juan and other places are a different story. There are a ton of spanish speaking women but through my experience a large majority of the population speaks english. I'm no authority on PR but I did try to experience a little of everything in the short time I was there. I was in a very committed relationship while I was there so I was only there to view as well but if your single and can hook up here I see no reason why you couldn't do it in the carribean.
