I just put on a yosh tri oval race system and a pc3r (with the yoshimura duplex full system map from dynojet) on my 02 750 and when I'm sitting at idle the engine is stuttering ever so often. When the bike is moving it runs awesome. The only thing I can figure out is that the engine is being starved for fuel. Being a mapping retard I'm not quite sure how to fix this problem.

I need to stress that started happening after the install.

What's your idle speed?

Are you sure the map is installed in the PC? You can check that by loading a zero map then Retrieving the map off the PC, if it's installed correctly you'll see the Duplex map instead of the zero map.

The map that you loaded has nothing done to the ignition mapping, which is the reason you buy a 3R version instead of the 3. You really need a custom map done.

Also, sometimes with aftermarket exhaust you will get a stutter at idle, I believe it's do to the lack of back pressure http://www.gixxer.com/forums/images/graemlins/dunno.gif I know my bike does also (I have a RS3 race)

is the map fro the 750. you may have accidentally loaded a 600 map instead. they run leaner than 750s. your idle should be at 1200 +-. try giving it a little more fuel in the lower throttle ranges and see if that helps. start in 1-2% increments. try different maps as well, every bike is different and not all maps are work the same on different bikes. try cutting and pasting a map off the yosh ems site on to the pc. it could just be lack of back pressure too.

I agree with adding some fuel...you should be able to stabilize it.

Ok thanks guys, I'll give that a try when I get home tonight.

So, since its been more than a day I can assume that you "played" a bit with your map and have resolved your problem to your liking? If not, post a bit more (idle speed, and throttle position) where you see the problem and we can go from there.

I raised the idle speed from about 1000 (seems low eh?) to 1200 and it seems to be working just peachy now. I'm going to be taking the bike into an engine builder in the next few weeks and have him dyno my bike and put a more custom map on the pc for me.

Thanks for your input guys!!

I had the same problem when i hooked up my yoshi ems system to my 03 600, i have a full tri-oval system also. it seems to have a miss in it at idle it is idling between 1100-1200 so it should be idling correct. but it even has a miss in it when i load the zero map in it, i have it unhooked right now. anyone know what could be wrong? thanx

My 03 6 does the exact same thing. i believe the post about the backpressure... and im convincing myself thats the reason. It still did the stutter without the yosh ems so i believe its the yosh trs system i have. dont mind it one bit now.

custom map is the way to go.
I just got mine custom mapped and the difference in chalk and cheese. On a elapsed time run 4sec. old map the bike made 77.1hsp
now 87.7 Idle is now perfect.

try taking the thing and having it dyno tuned?

try taking the thing and having it dyno tuned, so you know for sure it is mapped right??
