You guys are such a great influence, I thought I'd keep you up 2 date on my situation. I made it all weekend, without grabbing sweets, soda included. I even went to lunch with my b/f on Sunday, and didn't order a soda... that's hard!! Friday I went to the gym with a friend of mine from work, she took me as her guest. Mind you I belong to my own gym, but her's has a personal trainer (for free!). So I went on Friday, and he showed me around... kind of did a little of everything. Today I went back with her, and we focused on arms. Holy cow, I can barely lift them now (total exaggeration.) He actually gave me a nice compliment that I have nice tricep muscles http://www.gixxer.com/forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif It was the greatest workout ever, he would stand there and if i'd start to slack, he'd push me to finish. It's great. So I just ate my peach and yogurt for lunch, and i'm not even hungry. I think the hardest part is convincing your body that just because you aren't pigging out, doesn't mean you're going hungry. I've been trying to eat 5-6 meals a day (small ones). Even when I went out to lunch, I didn't splurge for the greasy burger and crap, I had grilled chicken. I'm feeling great, and i'm not stepping onto a scale for a few weeks, until I can definitly say i've lost weight.

Thanks guys for being there... this is like the gixxer.com diet support group.

Oh yeah, and spidey... http://www.gixxer.com/forums/images/graemlins/applause.gif http://www.gixxer.com/forums/images/graemlins/applause.gif http://www.gixxer.com/forums/images/graemlins/applause.gif for losing 90 lbs. That's awesome.

Damn Spidey! Amazing!!! http://www.gixxer.com/forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif (oh, and she is a hottie http://www.gixxer.com/forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif )

Gixie, that's great!!! I eat boneless, skinless chicken about 80% of the time. Everynow and then, I'll get me a good steak http://www.gixxer.com/forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif That's not a conscious choice those. . .I've only just realized recently that I actually eat very heathly. I hate fast food, I can't stand the greasiness. . .I don't cook w/any kind of grease at all. That's something else your body (once again, at least mine did) will start to 'not want' http://www.gixxer.com/forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif

You keep up girl. . .and send pictures when you want http://www.gixxer.com/forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif http://www.gixxer.com/forums/images/graemlins/tongue.gif

I have a question though. . .what's the best way for toning legs? I hate working my legs http://www.gixxer.com/forums/images/graemlins/frown.gif I enjoy working my arms, LOVE working the abs. . .but legs *sigh* I just want them tone. . .I like the size they are now. . .just want them firm ya know. . .Any pointers? http://www.gixxer.com/forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

yeh avoid the scales at least for a while - remeber that if your gym trianing fat weight loss will be countered by muscle weight gain and muscle is heavier than fat.

Go on how you feel and how you look dont be a slave to the scales http://www.gixxer.com/forums/images/graemlins/thumb.gif http://www.gixxer.com/forums/images/graemlins/thumb.gif

If your not into the gym thing, find a nice long set of stairs(maybe local H.S. football stadium?)and climb up two at a time. You know, instead of walking normally up the stairwell, place your foot on the stair above the one you would normally step on.This hits your glutes(ass)hamstrings, and works your quads(thighs)real good.Do this for about 15 minutes a day and you'll be surprised real soon at how firm your legs get.

Or if you do train at a gym then just use the staimaster http://www.gixxer.com/forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

Yes, I've got a gym membership. . .will hitting the stairmaster work as my cardio too? (I don't really know, know about working out. . .I just do it http://www.gixxer.com/forums/images/graemlins/tongue.gif )

Thanks http://www.gixxer.com/forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif *mmmuah*

Yep,it will count as cardio/aoeribic activity.
If you normally do the stairmaster, just increase the resistence a few notches, that should do it.....

Stairs are great for cardio and toning your legs. I always throw in some stairs after my run. Hits different muscles too. Stairs will defiantly tone your legs. Try and stay on your toes as long as possible and see if you can walk the next day. lol http://www.gixxer.com/forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif Another GREAT leg workout is jumping rope. See if you can last 10min solid and you'll get MAJOR leg muscles FAST! Once again, if you've not done this... don't expect on walking after a session of jump rope. If your an out door type. Go to the park and run some hills... or try and fly a kite. lol, me and my girl went to fly kites the other day, and it was more of a sprinting session than any flying.. stupid kites lol http://www.gixxer.com/forums/images/graemlins/bash.gif . Frisbee is another great leg toner. Anything that involves brief sprinting through grass or a dirt field will really murder your legs. You'll use allot of support muscles you don't use every day because the ground isn't consistent in nature opposed to a treadmill or stairmaster or something. I've been making my greatest leg gains outside lately... it's much harder to me, and my legs are shot after words. When I'm in the gym I usually split up my time between the treadmill and stairs for cardio though. http://www.gixxer.com/forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

If I could do those things outdoors, I wouldn't mind working my legs. . .I just don't have access or time or a buddy to do those things with. . .I guess I'm stuck on the stairmaster. . .but I'm willing to do that http://www.gixxer.com/forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

I'm much rather be doing things outdoors that tone my body than hitting a gym. . .I love the outdoors. Riding horses has kept me in some similance of shape for years, but I don't get to ride as much and my show schedule is sketchy right now. I usually can't move the day after a show http://www.gixxer.com/forums/images/graemlins/laugh.gif I barrel race so it's very phsysical http://www.gixxer.com/forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

If you can skip fast a 10 minute hard rope session is real tiring and fantastic cardio. http://www.gixxer.com/forums/images/graemlins/punk.gif

yeah, it's not always practicle.... but defiantly worth it when you can make time. something you could incorporate is the jump rope though. I got a 2lb rope from my local sports outlet and can tell you that next to serious outdoor hills, nothing will work your legs harder. I can get more from 10 min of jumping rope then I can with an HOUR of stairs. Give it a try, it will seriously KICK YOUR ASS! And I'll say it again... don't plan on walking much the next day. http://www.gixxer.com/forums/images/graemlins/laugh.gif http://www.gixxer.com/forums/images/graemlins/smirk.gif

Keep up the good work Gixiechic...biggest thing is, is that you don't lose sight of your goal...once that happens, then you'll cheat on yourself. DONT forget to ocassionaly, and I say that loosely, eat some fries or "treat" yourself. Unless your doing a competition, its not worth denying yourself the good life when it comes to food.

Well, I hit the Stairmaster. . .went for 15 minutes. . .did 40 floors. Was that a decent start? My legs feel nice & tight http://www.gixxer.com/forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif
