Hello there! I'm new to this amazing forum but I already need your help. I own a 1987 GSX1100R Streetfighter. It features 18" wheels instead of the 17" ones that newer bikes show. I wanna change them to get the 17" with the wider tires choice that they can offer. This is the question: what GSX wheels can I mount on my bike WITHOUT modifications? 1100? 750? What model? WHat year? Help!! Thanx a lot for reading and have a great WE!

Not possible without SOME modification. Use the search button, there is tons of info on these boards on how to do this. http://www.gixxer.com/forums/images/graemlins/thumb.gif

yep that link will help you
the rear is easy if you dont mind useing the 4.5 inch wheel and running a 160 tire
thats a strait swap
front is the mor complicated
real the best way to do the front is to get a compleat front end off a newer 750 , forks, triples, wheel, bars, brake stuff and just swaping that over as a strait swap also and you get better handling
hope this helps ya

i have a 1986 gsxr1100g a five and a half wide wheel from a gsxr1100m fitted straight in with no trouble at all , i only had to use a small spacer to get it lined up ok ,you could also space it out using washers, using this wheel allows fitment of 17 inch 180 radial tyres, but i use a 170 as with the 180 it runs very close to the chain .the difference it makes to the bikes handling is amazing .good luck
