: Cinnamon = weight loss ??? Interesting stuff...

Someone posted this on another board I read... Thought it might be useful for those trying to fight cravings.

I recently came across medical research info on how MHCP (methylhydroxychalcone polymer) a primary compound found in cinnamon can have an incredible impact on controlling your blood sugar levels. MHCP boosts the glycogen content of muscle and liver cells. In other words, MHCP acts as though it were insulin - it is an insulin mimic. MHCP reduces blood glucose levels not just in the presence of insulin but also in its complete absence - and it does so almost as well as insulin itself.

Cinnamon restores your fat cell's ability to respond to insulin and remove excess glucose out of your system. Cinnamon is also a rich source of magnesium, which is essential for maintaining bone density, electrolyte balance, certain enzyme functions and many other crucial biochemical processes.

Cinnamon reduces acidity in your digestive tract and supercharges the ability of your body to digest foods readily without fat absorption.

Green tea inhibits the action of anylase, a primary digestive enzyme of carbohydrates, and promotes the movement of food through the digestive system.

Honey, which contains some of the most powerful compounds in nature when mixed with cinnamom and green tea create a formulation together that essentially prevents your body from accumulating fat.

So about a week ago I started adding a teaspoon of pure cinnamon powder to every cup of green tea I drank, along with honey and a few drops of pure lemon juice. On the first day I did this I felt all my sugar and carb cravings simply vanish. It was like my body was in balance again. My energy levels went way up as well.

I got on the scale the next day and I saw my weight down by a pound. I thought hmmm, that's a good sign. Next day 2 more pounds were gone. By the end of the week, I dropped 7 pounds.

That might not sound like a lot, but most diets are only able to knock off 1 to 3 pounds realistically per week. So it was over double the normal weight loss.

I'm curious to see if this works for anyone else who's heavy. Just drink about 3 to 6 cups of green tea per day, mixed with a teaspoon of pure cinnamon powder, honey, and lemon juice.

The cinnamon is the key, cause as soon as I added that in the mix the fat started to disappear fast as lightning.

Post results if you try it.

I found the health benefits to some of these spices very interesting. Please post/comment if you have any experience with herbal remedy's.

^^^ Bump ^^^

Not that anyone seems to be interested in this... but I thought I'd share an update on my herbal supplementing so far. Recently I started drinking a cup of green tea a day mixed with cinnamon and honey. The honey is from a local health food grocery as well as the tea and cinnamon. So all ingredients are FRESH. Posted above are the benefits of cinnamon. Fresh honey from within 50 miles of where you live is supposed to cure allergy's. So I've been adding that to my tea and it seems to be working.

Here's my herbal concoction.

1 tablespoon fresh green tea leaves ( steep and strain )
1 tablespoon fresh ground cinnamon
1 tea spoon LOCAL honey

Keep a spoon handy so you can constantly keep string. You'll need to.

Anyway, here's my take on everything... THIS SHIT WORKS!!!! LOL

The green tea tastes great, and I can feel the cinnamon neutralizing any cravings for sweets I used to get. Belive it or not... in addition to this tea being a craving killer, the honey seems to be clearing up my allergies. The theory behind eating honey from within 50 miles of where you live is this... The bees fly all around your area and pickup all the allergens from the pollen. Then that gets into their honey. When you ingest this honey it's much like taking a flu shot. Fight fire with fire so to say... Furthermore honey is known to cure many other ailments, and from what I've read it's not converted into fat like other sugars.

In general I'm taking interest in natural remedy's and cures... It seems there is allot out there that could be quite beneficial, and since I've incorporated these things into my diet I'm feeling much healthier. I'd be interested to hear what everyone thinks about these type of things. Seems to be something to it considering medicine men and ancient Chinese dr's have been using spices to cure people for ages.

Please share your thoughts. http://www.gixxer.com/forums/images/graemlins/cheers.gif

Cool man. You'll be amazed how it kills your cravings for sweets. I suggest having it with or after your meals. This way your less likely to cheat in between meals. The cinnamon really makes you feel "perfect" so to say. As in not overly full after a meal, nor hungry in between them. Just content. Good luck with it man. The people that told me about this seem to be having really good success with it. I'm not in it to loose weight, so I can't give a completely honest opinion on it yet. Others seem to be losing fast though!

Yeah, it does give you a kick in the pants. I think it's the combo of the green tea and cinn. You can make it without the honey if you like. I don't take in any sweets either, but do add the honey to mine for the medicinal properties in it. My allergies seem to have completely cleared up since I started with the honey. I've notice I feel energized all day long too. Like OG says... "feelin my oats". That's what I feel like all day. Like I've been chowing on pasta and bake potatoes. TONS of energy. I've also been making great hurdle breakers in the gym that I attribute to well balanced nutrition. I'm VERY strict with what I put in my body, and this seems to be the last missing link to feeling great 24/7. Give it a try, you'll be amazed at how this stuff makes you feel.

Spidey,

You almost have me sold but I have one question. Do I have to use fresh green tea? It sounds like a pain in the ass. I'd much rather just buy some tea bags. What's your take?

I prefer fresh, but I'm sure you would be fine with bagged. http://www.gixxer.com/forums/images/graemlins/thumb.gif
