Spent all day in the garage and this is what I got done. Just need to shim the cam buckets, degree the cams, prime the oil pump, and get my buddies stock clutch basket to break the motor in. Do have a few more mods to do to the throttle boddies and nitrous as well.

Yeah, there is alot more to it than you can say with pics. There are alot of small things that can bite you in the butt if not done correctly.

I literally take the lap top in the garage with me and follow the on line manual. i just change torque sprecs for aftermarket parts. I also put the parts in baggies and label them when I take the motors apart. Then I label the bags for example "lower to mid case" or "mid to lower". Each baggy will have any bolts that went from the mid case to the lower case or o-rings. It's not that bad. Litterally all I use is a inch/pound and foot/pound wrench, sockets, assembly lube, oil, threebond, and red loctite. To set the motor up pre-assembly: feeler gauge, shims, mic, brake cleaner, and air gun. After motor assembly: cam degree kit.

But yes lots of o-rings, c-clips on the trans, ears on the trans, piston rings oriented correctly, rods facing correct way, rod caps correct way, etc.

It's realy not that bad. I was intimitated the first time, but now it's more of a "how good can I put this one together and trying different things. The best part is you get to see what shape everything was in coming apart. If you are particular and slow with the first one you do and bag everything up and label it you will be fine. Don't mind blowing them up as much when you know you can fix them.lol.

The problem is that most guys don't follow the manual as throughly as they should. I've seem people install the rings upside down, not shim the cams, leave out o-rings, install rod caps on a different rod than they came of off, use cam caps from a different head, etc.... All of the above would cause problems.

But if you follow the manual closely and check everything it says to check then you would be fine.

I normally run a big kerosene heater but kerosene has gotten rediculous on price. Plus this little keeps me and the fluids warm.

Same here. Find myself staring at the oil pressure gauge for about the first twenty minutes expecting it to drop.

BTW looking damn good, can't wait to hear what she does.

Motor is in the bike. It runs! Just been around the block on it. Will ride it more thursday. Taking longer than I thought. Changed lots of things on the bike. Took air shifter bracket off and mounted it to the frame to cut some weight and give it more leverage. Completely redid the nitrous set-up. Bought a new airbox that was "holeless" to start fresh. Went back to a single stage just like the busa. Total length of line is 36" to distribution block. Modified the lower triple to get the bike even lower.

Oh yeah went with a 47 jet. Should be 85 hp on top of 180ish.

What you need to put in? I'm sure we can walk you through it.

ummmm, how bout everything:
-PC Multi-Hub/Switch
-NOS Mini
-Spray Bar Kit
-Nitrous Kit

i don't doubt that i could do it with someone who knows what they're doing standing next to me guiding me through it. i'd second guess all the way through if i tried it myself and would never get done with it. not to mention i have no wiring experience whatsoever. since i'm sending the bike in to get HD valve springs put in, i'm just gonna have the guy do it all then.

if you have the nos mini it is very easy. Start by plugging in the multi hub. Then plug in the map switch wire. Then cut the switch off the wires(trust me). You need a standar 4 post relay here(like the ones for fog lights, any auto parts store will have them). Hook the 2 wires that were to the switch to the relay, one on post 87 and one on post 30. Now the nos mini comes in. Hook the yellow wire from the nos mini to post 86 on that same relay. Then just run a wire from the positive side of the battery to post 85.

Actually give me a minute and I will draw you up a diagram just because I love you.

For the nitrous kit lay everything out and put it together off the bike first. That will be simplist for you first time. It's not that bad. For everything listed all you should need is:

Red loctite
electrical tape
female spade connectors
butt connectors
ring connectors( for the battery)
wire strippers/crimpers
teflon tape
basic wrenches/sockets/screw drivers
drill drill bits
