Slightly lower torque at 5k, moved the 'hump' up the range to 10.5k. No real power gain, I think, with the Ti valves, but may rev faster.
EZ way 02-15-2004, 04:17 PM http://www.sportrider.com/features/146-0406-r600dyno-5-z.gif
[EGC]UltraInferno 02-15-2004, 06:51 PM I'm pretty sure these ain't valid for all countries.....
Repsol_Movistar 02-15-2004, 08:16 PM well im gonna say straight away,, thats a letdown.. http://www.gixxer.com/forums/images/graemlins/frown.gif
those seem like REALLY high numbers for the 600RR.. im almost jealous
sixhundy 02-15-2004, 09:16 PM Its not all about the dyno . I think you will find that the honda is a bit heavier than the gsxr so power to weight will be similar and I would rather have a lighter better handling bike. Im no expert but thats what I think. Just had a look at specs and suzuki claims to be about 15 pounds lighter that honda .
PrEtEnDeR 02-16-2004, 01:35 AM No way that 600rr is right. I've walked all over all 4 of them around here with my o3 sixxer... lol lame And i'm just slightly faster then the new 6r's i've raced as well. http://www.gixxer.com/forums/images/graemlins/bs.gif
WERA276 02-16-2004, 02:12 AM Damn look at that 10.5k spike on the gixxer!!! Looks like it was about to head to the moon for horse power then.......plop it just dropped off.....shit http://www.gixxer.com/forums/images/graemlins/frown.gif
Just for reference, all the numbers posted are high. Ive seen a lot and I mean a lot of 01-03's on the dyno and none have made 103hp. Most will barely and rarely hit 100.
But in defense of the gixxer, wait for some others to test. Who knows that could of been a really good honda and a shitty gixxer. Next test may result with a 105hp gixxer and 103hp honda......a lot depends on the individual bikes.
But yea, i did expect more from the new 600. Wonder if Yates will cry and stop riding the 600 class again.
stesta5074 02-16-2004, 03:26 AM Looks like it will be very competitive. The horsepower curve has a very interesting shape, it looks like the power will be very smooth up top. I'm not disappointed at all.. Dynos are only 10 percent of the equation anyway. What about chassis, suspension, brakes, weight, etc... ?
Face it, the only way to find a real difference between any of these bikes is to be a writer for a magazine... http://www.gixxer.com/forums/images/graemlins/smirk.gif
PrEtEnDeR 02-16-2004, 06:54 AM Whats odder is look at the pic they show of the 03 vs the 04.. 03 with like .2 more hp but the 04 with 2.4 T more...... Odd results imo That 04 got lighter rims or summtin.. That curve looks a lil ruff to me. It does look likes its going to take off then just kinda lays low. lol I'll know when i race against one how much better they are. I just dont trust dyno results for some reason. *shrugs*
sdr2ent 02-16-2004, 07:33 AM honda is only heavier because they didn't put a ti exhaust on from the factory seeing as how most people change those, why waste the money just to say you have the lightest bike. the mags already said that they lost 15 pounds changing the ex. on the honda wich puts it in the same weight category.

if im not mistaken the cbr weighs 26lbs. heavier.. which is more than an exhaust... but thats not the topic at hand..
guys, dont buy into this sport rider dyno graph. i dont buy it for a second. wait and see when the real world bikes are around that havent been thrashed to ribbons by every magazine guy since it was taken out of the crate. its only one gixxer 6... when there have been numerous tests done on numerous dynos lets take an average. ive seen gixxer 1000's dyno at 135 yet the average dyno run for an 03 gixxer 1k is about 151...
average gixxer 750 is 122, but ive seen as low as 113 on some. there will always be bad apples in a bunch, but it isnt representative of the majority.
sdr2ent 02-16-2004, 09:42 AM R6 357
600RR 370
Gixxer 6 2004 355
that is a 15 pound difference between the gix and the rr which is what sport rider said they lost with the exhaust change.
Gixkid600 02-16-2004, 10:09 AM http://www.gixxer.com/forums/images/graemlins/wtf.gif I Don't want to belive that. We'll have to wait and see. With all the changes Suzuki made I think it will have more power. Just a rotten egg. . .?
SlowKat 02-18-2004, 07:36 PM lol, I cant believe people are being babies about 3 or 4 wapping HP. wooodie do...
Anthony D 02-19-2004, 12:04 PM only the most tuned butt dynos will be able to tell the difference between these bike hp-wise. imo, look for what suits the rider better, such as power-to-weight, ergonomics, handling, and just the overall package itself.
i have ridden r1's, 600rr's, 636's, and personally, the gixxer fits me as a rider the best out of all of them, and THAT is why i chose suzuki, not just because of the hp.
badazzs 02-19-2004, 01:37 PM this is better for me know that i seen this graph i dont have to change my bike i have an 03 gsxr600 i even got more horsepower hahahahahahahahahaha
chrisOH 02-19-2004, 01:50 PM One note I think I didn't see brought up is the fact that the 03 bikes could have had 4-5k miles on them already. and most bikes pick up 1-3 hp as the motor loosens up.
04 600 I doubt had more than a 1000 miles.

That theroy dont work out for me. I'm 90% sure the day i got my bike it would kick the crap out of it today. Its been bothering me how much slower it seems to have gotton. Only 3k miles and i'm sure i can feel the diff. First couple of rides I took on it it felt more like how it does now when its very cold and early and u get on it. Most should understand what i meen by that. hehe Gotta luv that early morning boost.. http://www.gixxer.com/forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif Noticed this with a friends 6r too. He could neerly beat me till he put a few k miles on it. lol http://www.gixxer.com/forums/images/graemlins/wtf.gif
Anthony D 02-20-2004, 04:58 PM have you dynoed it yet, pretender? could it be that you are just getting used to the power and the feeling of it that it seems slower? the only real way to tell is to have a baseline dyno done and then later on down the road, dyno it again to see if it actually lost power. butt dyno's are extremely inaccurate.
bfkidd 02-22-2004, 01:55 AM Here is another graph of an '04:
http://www.akrapovic-ai.si/main/catalog/suzuki/gsxr600_2004/rac-evo/chart.html
looks like it is puuting out around 106 stock on this one, 110 with exhaust.

lol Yea i say the same thing about butt dynos. No i havent dyno'd myne yet, in a month tho. But still i would personaly bet money that MY bike is slower now then it was the day i drove it home. Been riding rockets since 96 and i think i can judge the speed of my bikes rather well imo.. My f3, ninja, and my other sixxer were the same way. They dont get better with time and milage they get weeker imho. lol Seems like commen since to me. If they should get better then wth is going on here... lol http://www.gixxer.com/forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif http://www.gixxer.com/forums/images/graemlins/dunno.gif
