You should have put the logo on a visible piece so people don't have to ask.

Can't wait, I have one that's slightly bent that's really been bugging me and the Woodcraft rearsets don't come with this plate.

Amen, brother... amen

Moto_Joe
01-13-2010, 07:17 PM
I think since they mount to frame tabs on the 04 05, it basically would have to be an entire rearset... or the OEM ones would be moved out by like 1/2" or so and be a bit awkward looking.

But yeah, would take a highly adjustable shift rod too.

IIRC the adjustable rearsets use adjustable pegs, rather than moving the entire bracket like the 06 and up do.

I cant recall for sure though

Right! And this is what becomes the problem. Having the shift on the engine case on the late models makes this Mod very simple!

Moto_Joe
01-13-2010, 07:20 PM
Well, maybe not. But the OEM bracket is so wide spaced, the adjustment plate would be rather large. But I guess you could make it so it is like the vortex, but with the OEM peg :scratch

i'm aware that they are 06-up buttttt how difficult would it be to make a set fit an SRAD?

I would need a set of the s rad plates and at this time, I don't have any

Moto_Joe
03-07-2010, 07:00 AM
The srad mounts like the k1-k3 did I think. There are no plates. The rearsets mount to the frame on tabs on the frame.

So THESE plates likely would not work. They would put the pegs way back. Would have to be a set that the holes go all the way to the leading edge,w ith the mount bolts counter sunk I would think,

You're right Joe. I'm working on the Solidworks models for some plates for my bike now, and I was thinking of doing the same thing. I just gotta find somebody who won't charge me an arm and a leg for some CNC time...

How far do you think they go back compared to the stock ones? I ask because I'm pretty tall, and I'll take any extra legroom I can get. If I set them in the furthest back position, would it be noticeably more than the furthest back stock position?

It's kinda tough to judge based on the pictures.

Thanks guys!

There is a way to make some for a SRAD, as when the SRADS were raced I feel certain there where adjustable rearsets (cant recall that far back now though even though I had one).

Question is will any of these have the same mounting bolt spread as a SRAD. :dunno

FWIW, I got my plates this weekend, along with the billet upper triple for the 06 600/750, and although I have not been able to mount them YET, they seem to be top of the line VERY nice pieces so far upon close inspection.

ok so i did a little tinkering and came up with a solution for those of us with SRADs. since our shift linkage is mounted to the rearsets we would need some sort of plate to keep the linkage in the same spot, or at least within adjustable range. i have drawn up a rough sketch of roughly what it should be, and could look like. disclaimer: it would require drilling two small holes in the shifter itself

Pro-Lux, would it be possible to include this small adapter in with a set of rearset plates for us SRAD guys? i can supply you with all the specs, pics, or even possibly the file (inventor) necessary

Pro-Lux-Racing
05-10-2010, 04:17 PM
That is all cool. But the average person may have trouble drilling the shifter? Most need things to be plug and play, but I am game for it if we get people that would be willing to have to drill.
So, are you saying that the piece here gets bolted to the shifter?

SuzukiJockey00
05-10-2010, 05:28 PM
yes, exactly that.

the piece above would require two small holes drilled in the shifter to stick two bolts through and secure it. the linkage would then be moved to one of the various holes on this plate based on where the rearsets are placed. as the rearsets move up and down on the adjustment, the rod follows a hypotenuse between the two distances.

id be more than willing to do a full write-up on it

Hey Guys - I bought a set of these about the first of April and promised Brendan I'd do a review once I had a chance to ride with them some. Right off the bat I can tell you I like them very much. How much you ask? I ordered a second set for the other bike two weeks after getting the first set if that tells you anything.

I have two GSX-R750's, an '06 and an '07. The '07 is my primary race bike and the '06 is used for control riding and as my backup/rain bike on race weekends. My problem was being a little over 6' 3" these bikes are a little cramped for me so I was looking for a solution to allow me to get the pegs back some to drop my knee position down to a more natural angle. I still like the pegs up but need more rearward adjustment.

When I got the first set in I was immediately impressed with the quality. First class machining, good finish, etc. Almost a shame to have them hidden for the most part. They bolted right up with no issue and gave me the range of adjustment I was looking for.

The only issue I had which is in no way a Pro-Lux problem was the Akrapovic exhaust uses a custom plate for mounting the rearmost pipe bracket to the stock rearset hanger and goes between the plate and the rearset. Obviously with the different shape of the Pro-Lux which is necessary to give you more adjustments this bracket would no longer work. No big deal in my case, a little aluminum bar stock, a couple of bends using a vise and little Dremel work and I had a replacement mounting bracket ready to go.

I've now ridden 5 weekends on the track using these parts and I'm still just as impressed as when I initially got them. Having the extra adjustment has made the bikes much more comfortable and my knees are no longer "locked up" when I get off the bike even after back to back sessions where I'm out for 40 minutes between control riding and then going out to play in A group right afterwards.

If you are on the fence about these don't hesitate to buy as I think you are getting some excellent parts for the money. I haven't used any of his other parts like his top clamps but have checked out the ones on Moto_Joe and GranTouring's bikes and they seem to be just as high a quality part.

Thanks again!

I did have 07-10 and were listed as the same P/N from Suzuki. I made a few proto type plates, sent them out for testing on a few bikes. First 3 sets that went out, no problems. then as I sold some in production, I found that suzuki did not make either their plates of rear sets the same as they should have been!

Meaning, they had a bunch of parts that went out of their factory that were different. (a fuck up on their part)
I had issues with the holes lining up on both left and right rear sets/plates. Even know that I sold and sent some up for testing, and others did not have a problem.
Since then, I pulled all my 07-10 1K plates out of my line up for this reason.
It becomes a 'crap shoot' if my plates will fit due to their poor Quality ethics.

They will prolly never own up to it, nor will you ever hear about it!!

I've wanted a set of relocator plates for my 05 since I got it. I designed a set (not adjustable) that would retain the stock width, but they'd have to be made from pretty thick material (.75 at least). I had two reasons. First was for feel, the second was for shift rod alignment. I made a test set out of parrifin and they would work very nice.

I basicly concluded that I wasn't going to waste the time and effort in the machine shop to relocate stock rearsets and that I'd buy some aftermarket rearsets.

But, I think it would be extremely easy to modify your design for the older bikes. Just not sure how they'd feel being a little wider, or if the change in shift rod angle would be enough to cause it to bind.
