$545k for a lexus? Looks nice but way overpriced in that category. A ton of better options in that price range. Hell in 1/2 that price range :lol

You can build a Supra for half of $585,000? That's a real gift you have.

The bottom line is people will buy these cars... quickly. Initially they were supposed to be in the $150k range but it looks like the final product will blow right past that. So if you were interested in buying you'll have to 'settle' for a V10 powered R8. Boo hoo. Lexus will have zero problems selling these cars at whatever price tag they stick on it because... it's a Lexus. The king of refinement, fit & finish and all that is reliability in the automotive industry. Now this same cream de la creme has produced a car to hang with the best performers in the world all with fit and finish and I'm sure reliability the others can't touch. Lexus won't make any money on this car but it's an example to all of what they're capable of. Nissans selling for $90k, VW's selling for $60k, Hyundai sedans topping $40k... who would have thought any of these possible? We live in a new age and just because you're not lining up for a Lexus supercar the other side of half a mil doesn't mean others aren't.

If you build it...

id disagree. They can have their Ferrari or w/e . If you had the dough for one of these you don't fucking care. You buy it cause its different and its not like there are already thousands of them already out there ;)

totally changed my whole perspective on the car. If i had the cash to blow, i would be all over one of those.

and you'd still have a supra. Heck i can probably build a 6second civic for 1/2 of your supra but I'd still have a civic. It's not about building a better car with mods or what not at that price range, it's about having the car itself.

I agree that people will buy it just to say they have it but I doubt it will gain popularity like other supercars. If it was done to say promote the brand and raise the eliteness of having a lexus again along with proving they can do something like this, then maybe they've done that. :dunno Did they say how many they were going to produce in this initial run? :scratch

Actually, they've been working on a joint venture w/Subaru for a while now that looks to be about as close to a Supra as we've seen in a while. It will be a RWD drift monster that will come with a NA 4cyl to start things off but will eventually get a turbo charged power plant that could surpass the power/weight ratio the Supra had since it's smaller and designed to be lighter. Could show some potential even though it will likely wear the Celica name.
