Anyone know if this shock is rebuildable? A buddy of mines 05 GS500F went bad (he thinks) said its bouncy as hell all of the sudden.

Or if you have any other suggestions let me know.

Honestly, it's a VERY cheaply made shock from the beginning. Even if it's rebuildable, it's not really worth the money. I'd look around for a better stock shock from another bike, you can find lots on eBay. There's a GS-specific forum that can help you more regarding which other shocks fit in, www.gstwins.com :thumbup

One thing, though - if you swap in a better/harder shock, it's definitely recommendable to change the springs in the fork as well. But that is very easy on that model (since the forks are so simple/cheaply constructed). Not even too expensive, a set of springs are something like 100-120$ at for example Race-Tech. At 4-5 years old it'll need fresh fork oil anyway :)
