Alright, has anyone found a reasonable deal in the Southeast yet (AL, GA, TN, SC, FL, NC)???

The best I'm at is $8600 OTD (w/o tax), which makes my on the road price $9200 (6% taxes in FL). http://www.gixxer.com/forums/images/graemlins/punk.gif

If you know of any better deals, please post up.

Call any Suzuki dealer in Savannah GA, they seem to be consistantly lower in price on every bike I've checked on. Go to www.suzuki.com (http://www.suzuki.com) and do a dealer search which will supply you with phone numbers. Most places dont mind throwing out prices right over the blower It may be worth your time. The Tax rate may be a show stopper, that part I dont know. Good luck.

The key word here is "quoted"....and I'll bet thats not what you'll pay if you go there and buy it.

Everybody seems to be saying they can get it sooo much lower than MSRP but I have yet to see anybody prove it. I paid $8900 after taxes and all the other BS....$7999.00 is what the bike cost...rest was tax/prep/doc fees/freight.....

Did I get a great deal?? Doubt it but I've had my '04 600 home since Saturday.

Quoted yes.. and it was the manager and i made him repeat that there were no other fees.. 8100 out the door.

I made my local dealer pricematch them though http://www.gixxer.com/forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif I've had my 04 600 since Saturday too.

Don't pay too much guys!! Keep shopping around. If you really want proof I can scan my bill of sale I suppose but I have no reason to lie. I just want everyone to know that there are deals out there just don't give up. I almost settled on a leftover 03 b/c the asking prices of most dealers are over 9G!

K-Law, yes it was ARS in Okeechobee. The $9100 price is OTD for an '04 Gix 750. I was this close to giving them the deposit but ultimately decided against it. There are two reasons.

First, their ads in the cycle trader are deceptive as hell since the headline price is "$7699 or $8299, no freight, no prep." What the hell is that? I called and asked and they gave some B.S. explanation. Anyway, the bike comes out to $9100 or $9200 depending on which salesperson you talk to. I spoke to Eric and Steve on different occasions and got different prices. I hate dealing with dealers like this which probably explains why I've been buying bikes out of state for 15 years now!

Second, I've decided to get a ZX-10R. After reading the Superbike review of the Gix 750, there's just a little too much "it's pretty good" language going on. Moreover, they compare it more to a 636 than to a litre bike. To me, this doesn't scream "excitement" anything like the reviews of the 10R do. I shopped around and found one for $10,350 OTD (first green to come in). For the extra $1k, I'll take it.

The new Gix 750 will be great, as it always has been. Good luck with your purchase.

Scott.

750-636 = 114cc
1000-750 = 250cc

The previous generation 750 was a lot closer to the 1000's than to the 600's. Hell, I personally witnessed an '02 750 run neck to neck against an '02 R1 on top many times (both stock). Moreover, at high speeds, it was never easy for my G1k to shake the 750. They really are fast bikes.

Anyway, maybe I'm being overly greedy in expecting more. When I heard the '04 750 would make 10 more hp, I was psyched. Imagine, the turn-in of a smaller bike, with the ability to hang with even the latest 1000's (to some degree). Sure, I'd have to pipe it, and pc it, but if it could at least be close (say 140 hp at the rear wheel), then the cornering prowess would be worth the power tradeoff.

But, this doesn't seem to be the case. I don't know that 10 more hp was gained from the new engine. Moreover, with some of the 1k's pushing 160 hp, it may be too much.

My deposit is still refundable, so I can still pick the Zook if the tests come out really good. But, I also got a great deal on the 10R. The 750 with a pipe and pc would cost me more than the Kwak purchase. What to do... what to do??????
