i gotta 03 600 blue/white scheme with the bulky taillight assembly. Thats the only thing i can't stand about the bike. When i saw the 04 i fell in love with the tailsection. I LOVE how the taillight is sank flush with the the whole tailsection. Just wondering if the tailsection would fit on the 03 subframe... well the mounting points are definitly different. I know that much looking at them at work all day. The subframe on the new 600's is completely different than the old ones. So in other words it would take some serious retro-fitting!

Ive got a 01 600 track bike and I was going to get the 03 1000 tail (fibreglass race section without using the oem seat) and I had taken some measurments and did a little cut and paste work on the computer and I think with a few subframe mods it would be possible. I was just about to order the tail but i fucked my back and i am selling my bike , should be back in action about may so i orderd i 04 600.

I could put an 04' tail section on my 01' 1k but then again i retrofitted the 03' subframe- the ONLY possible way to acheive what you ask.......it was easy 25 hhs of work to do it but if I did it again I could do it in 10

I had to fabricate a brace system to attac the subframe b/c the atil sections of the old gen gixxers are totally different - for example, the 04' tank attached to the subframe!
I had to take that part out
