I read a post about OG mentioning something about fruit. Are fruits (the food) something we should stay away from?? I only ask because oats by themselves are pretty rough, I was thinking that half an apple would be good in it.

I don't think you should "Stay away" from Fruits, but you should not be trying to get all of, or a substancial amount of your Carbs from Fruit. The Energy you get from Fruit is all Natural Sugars, and they burn off very fast. You want to be getting your Carb Sources from something that will Stick with you for longer, and give you a more Gradual release of energy. (ex. Oatmeal, Whole Wheat Breads, Sweet Potatoes, Rice, Whole Wheat pasta)

I add some Fruit to my Cottage Cheese, Usually Blueberries, and also add about 1/2 a Banana to my Shakes. You should still have some fruit, and it shouldn't hurt you to add some apple to your Oat's.

Xanadu, for what your looking to accomplish, fruit is fine as a snack or an extra with your meal.My reference about excess fruit was in the case of dieting down for maximum muscle definition and fat loss.In a scenario like that, you want to eliminate all unecessary calories.Fruit contains a sugar called fructose, which is very easily converted to fat once in the system. An excess amount of that is no good in order for those goals to be achieved.

Spidey followed my suggestion about the extra fruit and was happy with the results as he noticed a change within a few days in his appearance.

So unless your looking to get shredded and ripped, fruit is fine bro http://www.gixxer.com/forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif

Of course Oldgixxer answered your question, but usually you want to stay away from fruit juices.. They usually have a bunch of added sugar..

just pick pure juice, I dont know about in the states but if its labelled as pure juiceover here then it you can be sure that it contains absolutely zero additives.

A glass of pure orange juice is a very good and very healthy breakfast accompanyment.

and a bannana as a post heavy cardio session snack is a fantastic way of refueling carbs and aiding recovery.

True.. If its like 100% OJ or whatever it is probably ok to drink.. I was more refering to like fruit punch and those sorta drinks where they add sugar and other stuff..
