Hey guys after I get down to my desired weight I want to get started on Creatine.. do any of you guys know any horror stories about his stuff or anthing I should watch out for! Creatine is best used to bust through a plateau. It will help raise your weights, and your Body weight, but you shouldn't use it all the time. You need to cylce it. say 2 months on, 1 month off. You should still Focus on your Weights Routine, and a Strict Diet, because it will not make up for bad Diet or weight plan, but it can help you bust through a Plateau.

I have seen gains when using it, but when you stop, some of the gains are lost, since creatine makes your muscles hold more water, when you stop, alot of the weight you put on will be lost, and I always noticed a drop in what i could lift as well, but usually I was still lifting more than when I started the cycle. Also you won't ever appear really cut when supplementing with it. But I have never heard of anything negative about creatine, it is a Natural Substance, and even a Big steak has some creatine.

drink lots of water.. from what ive heard, in excess and in certain types of people it can be hard on your liver, especially if you drink. just cycle it, but i say one mo on one mo off... http://www.gixxer.com/forums/images/graemlins/thumb.gif

sorry to highjack here but when is the best time to take creatine on a gym day during a non-loading phase? before or after a workout? or does it even matter?

Like everyone has said, it works great for lifting more weight. I have made some nice gains on Creatine. But, you will gain some water weight and you will loose most of the stength gains you get when you stop taking it. I typically gain 2-4 lbs in bw while on creatine for 4 weeks.

well dont believe the loading crap.. its a marketing ploy so you use the product up faster adn go buy more. i usually take mine about 1hr befor workout. From my understanding, the whole point in creatine is to help the muscle vascularity allowing more blood and water into them. So i figured taking it and getting it into your system before workout is best, (also said on the bottle). but i have no clue on how or how long it takes to digest and be used. http://www.gixxer.com/forums/images/graemlins/dunno.gif

from what I know, you take approx 5 grams pre-workout and another 5 post-workout.

i love creatine.. as was mentioned you shouldnt take it for more than 8 weeks at a time. then take off about 6. it will bloat you up a bit since you will hold more water, more water means more o2 in your muscles which will help increase muscular endurance so you can lift the heavy weight a little longer and hence make progress. it can be hard on the liver for some people. anything in excess is no good for ya anyway.

load up for 4 or 5 days and take the shit all day long. once your loaded take it when its good for you. i would take 5 grams in the am and another 5 in the pm. it doesnt give you an instant turbo boost, it just helps your muscles hold water so it will be the same all day long (to the best of my knowledge).

But everyone takes it differntly.. Taking before workout would be no different from taking it earlier. Its used when you workout so it uses the stored creatine. After workout insulin spike is usually to replace the creatine used..

Some bodybuilders take 5 grams before and 5 after, and 5 with water on non workout days

hahaha true that!!!

your body produce creatine on its own, you are just making it produce more for a fast recovery and for strength.
I have a liver problem and I stopped taking creatine because my liver was working harder then it should be.
When i took it a long time ago I bloated up big time,, I got puffy cheeks and everything.
