I just got a wireless Linksys Access Point (WAP54G) to go along with my Linksys router (BEFSX41). Disclaimer: I am not a computer geek http://www.gixxer.com/forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif I don't know WTF i am doing. All I know is that a router is a router and a access point is used for surfing the web wirelessly with my crap laptop. http://www.gixxer.com/forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Problem:
I followed the directions in their "Quick Installation" guide and Setup Wizard they provided. EVERYTIME I change a setting in the "webbased utility" (security, password, channel etc) the POS freezes (webpage will display no found). Also after that the router itself freezes (doesn't send signals) and I have to the turn the power off and then back on and start all over http://www.gixxer.com/forums/images/graemlins/mad.gif

Did I get a bunk (defective) router or my dumbazz is retarded? I hoping it's the first part http://www.gixxer.com/forums/images/graemlins/bash.gif

TIA http://www.gixxer.com/forums/images/graemlins/cheers.gif

If you are referring to typing into the browser a 192....number then your actually entering the internal settings page and if you are having problems with it then I would look into updating the firmware. Since your not a computer geek you might want to consult tech support before doing it.

That is where i would Start too...Update the Firmware on the Router. And if you are not familiar with doing this call tech Support. And read any tech Articles you can get your hands on for this on Linksys's Site.
