Alright... I'm still trying to get this project up and running. When I got this for $100 it was in pretty bad shape. It had been stolen, Honda motor removed, LIFAN motor installed and then pretty much destroyed. I took out that motor and put in a LIFAN fully automatic 107cc motor that I picked up off of ebay. Since the LIFAN doesn't have the places on the motor to hook up the PAIR valve hoses I just took the PAIR valve out all together. Is this ok? So now I'm not positive on how everything gets hooked up. The ON/RESERVE/OFF selector is mounted right on the carb. That has two fuel lines going to the gas tank (which had some weird smelling blueish/greenish "fuel" in it when I emptied it). Then there is a hose coming off the bottom of the carb. That's just what? a breather hose? I can't leave that not connected to anything or fuel will just run out of it :dunno where does that go? The up on the right side of the carb there is a place to hook a hose. Where does this go or is that where I hook that "breather tube" to? The carb then goes to the airbox, which has some hoses coming off the back as well. One went to the PAIR valve that I just have hanging there and then two small diameter hoses. One went to the rear right brake assy, but I'm not sure about the other one. I just have those removed right now. I figured they were just part of the PAIR system.
Anyway.... I can't get the thing running with gas hooked straight up to the carb whether I use the tank or a reserve tank. The only way I can get it to fire up is if I dump gas directly into the carb. Then when it fires up it runs good and sounds good for a few seconds then dies. So, I THINK my only problem here is a fuel issue....just not getting there :dunno
Suggestions....help.....thoughts???

ok, so here is a shitty phone pic, but this is a problem. That shiny gold thingy is SUPPOSED to be my air screw, but you either need a special tool to turn it or someone jacked mine up. There is no way to turn it and I can't find my ultra tiny needle nose. :dunno frick

let's try this again....

a little bit blury ....sorry, but you get the idea, right? So how do I adjust this bastard? I got the motor to run on full choke, throttle adjust screwed all the way in, and giving it a little gas. If I let off the gas or adjust the choke it dies out. SO, I need to adjust this air screw, right? so how??? bastage :dissapointed

Yeah, you need a special tool for the air screw. But you've got multiple problems that I'm having a tough time visualizing - the hose from the airbox that goes to the REAR BRAKE???? Bottom line, with that many hoses hanging loose from the carb you are going to have problems. Sort those hoses out first and then worry about that screw last.
First, the PAIR valve. What did you use to replace the hole left by the PAIR valve? You'll need some sort of block off plate for it. Secondly, all those hoses either need to be connected or blocked off. If they are vacuum hoses, block them off, if they contain fuel, or are overlow hoses, route them correctly. There should be a breather hose, butI think the one on the bottom of the pecock is likely a vacuum hose. This needs to be hooked up much like those on our bikes as the vacuum likely opens the petcock, so yeah, this one will have to be hooked up. Have you hooked fuel up to all of these to find out where fuel is coming out? To find out if the one on the bottom of the petcock s vacuum for the petcock is simple. Put fuel in the tank and leave the bowl off the carb then suck on the hose on the bottom - if fuel starts dumping out of the bottom of the carb, then it is vacuum for the petcock, if not and get gas in your mouth then it must be overflow. Don't swallow it.
Check those things and let me know what you come up with.

Thanks for the heads up not to swallow the gas :dissapointed
I didn't do anything to block off the PAIR valve. Yesterday I just had a reserve bottle leading into the the petcock that flows when in the "on" position and no airbox/filter hooked up. This allows gas to get to the carb no problems. I was able to get it running and keep it running, but only on full chock with the idle screw turned all the way in. That's why I was thinking I just needed to adjust the air screw :dunno
I'm emailing you a word doc with some pics from the manual....

get a klein 22mm carb and junk that one in the pic and run a air filter straight off the carb and junk the air box........i used to race pit bikes and a 22mm carb would be perfect for a 100 plus cc pit bike engine.....you could run a ktm 65 carb on it as i run 2 stroke carbs on all my 4 stroke pit bike engine with the correct jetting and needle in the right position.......
heres my reeg mx race bike off reeg mx in the usa....

that ATC looks sweet :banana
I ended up finding a guy on ebay that was selling brand new knock off carbs for pretty cheap, so I grabbed one of those and threw it on there. As soon as I did the thing fired right up. I haven't had a chance to look at it in the past two weeks. I'm in the process of selling my Wrangler and just picked up a Cherokee for $300, so it took a bit of attention to get it to pass inspection and registered... but it's done and legal today :punk
