squats. There's more than a few variations. Study up. Lunges, leg extensions, leg curls, calf raises. For nice legs, like anything else, you need to take the dynamic approach and hit it from every angle. Squats should be your foundation though. Then once you've done them, move on to the more isolated exercises like hitting your quads, hams, etc. individually.

So you want legs like mine, huh? http://www.gixxer.com/forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif

One word: SQUAT SQUAT SQUAT!!!!!!!!!

Your legs will NEVER develop to their maximum potential(or as rapidly) if you do not squat.Trust me,I know a few things about quads.Leg presses, hack's,lunges, extension's,they're fine. But you do them after you squat.Nothing looks more ridiculous then a guy w/ a big upper body and no wheels.People don't like to do them because there fucking exhausting.

Now.....go to the nearest squat rack and do 10 sets pronto.Ass to ankles is the only way bro!!!!!

Leg day is my favorite day. http://www.gixxer.com/forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

I don't know why. I just feel like I'm really accomplishing something when I'm pushing out those squats. At first, my main motivation was to build as much muscle as possible so I'm burning more calories. No better place to pack it on fast.

In case no-one here has emphasized it enough. Squats is the most important exercise. Heavy deep squats. I like to do a heavy 4-8 rep set then follow it with a little lighter 15-20 rep set. I've since noticed them coming along nicely. I also do Leg pres and front squats and other days. Now calves I'm still wondering about. I've tried hammering them with a lot of sets, tried goign super heavy, so now I am at the point where I go failry light but with an explosive positve, hold for 5 sec, 10 sec negative, and hold the stretch for 10 sec. They are coming along, but I believe the slowest of any body part. My delts aren't growing as well as I would like either. I am beginning to adopt a more high rep workout to my legs, it seems to be working better when using such heavy weights.

I want to start doing Squats...but with my Knee injury, I don't think I should until I strengthen then with other exercises First. Or should I start doing them with relatively low weights..and up the weight as I feel i can?

and Damn right they are exhausting.

id say do em with low weight as long as there is no pain.. squats are such a compound movement youll help to strengthen everything

I had knee surgery two months ago and have no functioning PCL.

I do them but I'm keeping the weight very light (like 35's on each side at first and go up a little each week) and doing slow reps to parallel. When doing them, make sure your lower leg stays as vertical as possible. Don't ever let the knee go past your toes.

On your way up, make sure you're going with perfect form and your knees aren't wobbling. Don't force anything and you should be ok. If anything hurts at all, stop.
