04 1000. put new oil cooler and oil in. cases get extremely hot and oil light stays on. how can i prime the system?

Put the rear on a stand, pull the spark plugs and with the bike in gear spin the back wheel. First gear will work best.

I don't bother. I'll send the lump to KWS if it shits the bed.

take the clutch off inlcuding the outer basket and put a drill with a piece of hose over the oil pump and prime it that way.

Shouldnt have to prime it, spin your oil filter off a little to allow oil to come out, start the engine and quickly shut it down when oil starts to come out around the filter. Spin the filter back down and restart the engine and see if the light goes out.

Just simply unplug the fuel pump under the tank and crank the engine several times in 10-15second increments until you feel there is a fair amount of oil bled through the system.
