I was just wondering, what size sockets do I need in order to remove the stock muffler? I know there's a bolt attached to the passenger pegs, and then one on the muffler clamp? Anything else?

I believe it is 12mm. If not that it is 14mm

I forgot that I need to remove the allen head bolts that hold the rear sets on? Anyone know what size they are?

Really dude.......... if ya have to ask, you probably should let a competent person do the job :scratch.

You don't need an allen wrench. there is a bolt at the bottom and top of the mufler. Basic socket set will work.

get a basic socket kit & it comes with pretty much every size u need for the bike or download a service manual for specific socket sizes

Pretty competent modder. If I can install a full turbo, downpipe, midpipe, and exhaust on a WRX, I'm pretty sure I can handle a slip on. Just wanted to make sure I had the correct metric sockets/allen sockets before I left work, so that if I didn't, I'd be able to swing by sears on the way home.

And, I do need to remove the rear set per yoshi's instructions in order to mount the R55 bracket between the frame and rear set.

In addition, anyone have any issues with leaks when reusing the stock muffler gasket?

Its not like they are an odd size that anyone who does any wrenching on anything would nto have. I could understand if you were wondering about the rear axle nut or something :wacko :lol

Are you doing a full system? or a slipon? If it is a slipon, there isnt a gasket to worry about I dont think (cant remember for sure). Full system, then yes ideally you would want to replace the header gaskets. They dont HAVE to be, but it is prefered, as it can cause exhaust leaks for sure

No gasket for a slipon. It is just held on by force from the clamp.

So far everything I have done to my bike, a basic metric set and a 3/8" socket allen wrench set will get through majority of it. Plus a couple odd metric sizes for rear axle and front sprocket.

This is what I have, sizes 3mm, 4mm, 5mm, 6mm, 7mm, 8mm and 10mm ( harbor freight I LOVE YOU )

I had an STi so if you had the tools to do that you will have majority of the tools for a bike.

The allen bolts are 4mm & 6mm. If you dont have the right tools, dig into the tool kit in the tail. That thing has pretty much everything you need to work on the bike. They are cheap light duty tools but they will work in a pinch.
